We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chris Lee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chris below.
Chris, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.
At 18 years old I had a mentor that saw inside of me something I certainly did not. Within 2 months, he had helped me climb from a factory worker who was packaging pool noodles to a human resources manager, then shortly after sitting in executive boards taking notes on what I saw, experienced, and thought could be improved.
He trusted me when I didn’t trust myself and allowed that confidence to be constantly humbled with life lessons which cultivated a mentality that allowed me to build and scale multiple successful businesses before the age of 30.
What was instilled in me during that time was that no matter how effective or efficient a business model or floor plan is the limiting factor will always be the people who run those models.
A successful business puts employees first, and client’s success second, and naturally has the humility to foresee that financial success is a byproduct of the people not the systems.
Chris, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
We are drowning in information but thirsty for acknowledgment and wisdom. Surround yourself with people who know how to listen and speak truth to you in a nonthreatening but honest way.
You can’t read the label inside the jar, your ability to see your blindspots and make meaningful progress is limited by the people in your life and your ability to receive information, not take that personally, and take action.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn my fear of failure.
We live in the age of information and your ability to take criticism and then making a change will push you further to success than anything else.
Your haters are your best teachers, use them as lessons not as scars on your character.
