Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Hutter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chris, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
In 2000 I moved to Arizona for health reasons. I was left disabled after being in two Major auto in 1986 and 1990. I am TBI (Traumatic Brain Trauma) and Physically disabledI. Once I settled in Arizona I got married, then decided to follow my passion and started working on trying to create a new genre of art which I call Abstract Graphics. I have been producing my art for twenty four years with no intention of stopping. While it may not be a genre yet my art is unique and different from most.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I do art for the sole purpose that I can’t do anything else. After being in two major auto accidents in 1986 and 1990 I decided to move from CT to AZ for health reasons. Having a degree in studio art I thought I’d have no problem finding a job in the graphics field. Turns out that due to my accidents and rehabilitation I basically put my life on hold for five years. By then I was obsolete and the world of art went computerized which I had to experience in. Not knowing exactly what to do I decided to use a plan I had in college and go about creating my own genre of art but in order to do this I needed a job to support me and my wife. I used my degree and started substituting high school which served two purposes. It was a way to support us plus it gave me time to work on my art. I have a plethora of art and will be continuing adding to Abstract Graphics.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I won’t stop at any cost. I was given 12 hours to live after my first accident, I defied that. I was told I might not walk again, I am. I was told I would never Gaduate college, I did. I have multiple disabilities but don’t allow them to stop me from persevering. I will continue along my path until I obtain it.
