We were lucky to catch up with Chris Hndrixx recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chris, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I just want to make people feel good with my music, like how music makes me feel. I’ve been into music for about 4 years, but i’ve only been serious about it for the last 2 years. I have a strong passion for it. So even if no one listening to it, i’ll still make it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well, first…i go by ChrisHndrixx. Chris is my first name and Hndrixx comes from Future and Jimi Hendrix. When Future was in his ‘HNDRXX’ era, he was consistently dropping hits and going crazy. That just reminds me to keep going and keep dropping music. As for the Jimi Hendrix part, he’s mostly known for playing the guitar. Which reminds me to just keep being great at whatever it is that you do. I make all kinds of music from R&B to Rap, i’m very versatile at what i do. I’m proud of how my music makes people feel, i love the reaction. When my song comes on and somebody knows all the words, it’s just the best feeling. Also, to know that your songs alone can get people through tough times, is amazing to me.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons i had to unlearn is that being a music artist doesn’t mean i have to make one genre of music. I mean, Van Gogh or Picasso didn’t paint the same painting every time. Usually with artist these days, they make one type of song and you hear that type of song from them every time. I was raised listening to different genres of music, so it’s easy for me to not just make one song forever.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Music was always my first love, but i put it to the side to make YouTube videos at. I always tried to incorporate music into my YouTube videos, but when started losing the passion for making videos. Music was always there.
