We were lucky to catch up with Chris Gulley (Fury stage name) recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
My show covers entertainment news and geek related news from a POC perspective.. The difference with my show is that I’m creating an inclusive and safe space for minorities that either work in the entertainment field or geek space. When I refer to the geek space I mean anything from comics, television, film, wrestling, gaming, etc. I also showcase POC creatives to shine more light on various projects. We discuss the latest in entertainment and also how people in the minority groups are either portrayed or affects that same community. I also do mock commercials (SNL style) and just recently added Nerd Jeopardy to my show.. I like to think of my show one part The Arsenio Hall Show (Cleveland Native), The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Saturday night Live.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’ve always been a fan of the geek genre. I got into the industry when I attended Ohio Media School. We ended up going in to lockdown due to the pandemic and since I love talking about entertainment. I decided to start my podcast. Later on I decide to get my L.L.C. for the show as well as trademark (very important in this business). What I’m currently doing is getting myself together to start doing voice work. I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on my voice so that’s one place I’m going. Also, I’m taking Blerd’s Eyeview to be more involved with all forms of entertainment. From in person interviews, carpet premieres and production services and more. For those who want follow, we can be seen on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Twitter. Heard on anywhere you listen to podcasts including iHeartRadio, Apple and Google Podcasts.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In this business, it’s easy for someone to cancel or news changes. They way I pivot is I think like Black Panther or Batman. Always have a back up plan! I had my main computer crash on me awhile back and I was fortunate enough to have a back up laptop until I received a new one.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Staying consistent on Social Media is a plus. Whether it’s me posting the latest news in entertainment or making a TikTok. It’s helped gain a wider audience in the niche that I’m in. My advice? Stay consistent! When recording or making any content don’t second guess yourself. Especially when doing live videos! Here’s the plus to flubbing live, it’s more relatable!!
