We recently connected with Chris Crump and have shared our conversation below.
Chris, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
What does Anavah mean?
Long before founding Anavah Talent, I was journaling about my idea vision for my professional life.
I was asking myself the question, “If money was not a factor, where would I spend my time?”
I decided that if money was no limiting factor, I’d choose to spend my time supporting redemptive organizations by investing my own capital into different verticals centered around improving ‘quality of life.’
These buckets are philanthropy (supporting specific causes), venture capital (fostering innovation), housing (building affordable places to raise a family), and small businesses (creating dignified opportunities).
I even discerned the name of the future entity—Anavah.
Discerning a name
‘Anavah’ or ‘עֲנָוָה’ is a Hebrew word that’s loosely translated to ‘Humility’ in English.
However, the literal translation means “To take your God-given space in the world.”
How fitting that God gave me this word years ago—long before Anavah Talent was formed.
Human giftings are innate
I believe every human has innate gifting.
A unique bundle of talents that we are meant to engage.
I’ve had the same gifts since I was a child:
– A heart for high agency people.
– A gift for spotting innate ability.
– A knack for connecting others.
It’s important that every human discern and engage their giftings.
Carving a niche
When people in my network came to me asking for help building overseas teams, I never thought it would turn into a real overseas staffing business.
But I realized it was a perfect fit for who I am—and the name God gave me many years earlier.
Anavah Talent is predicated on the idea that we all have God-given talents and we have the freedom to use our talents to carve out our own niche in the World.
The freedom to hire talented and qualified people in different parts of the World who can use their God-given skills to bless others—and vice versa.
The freedom to build redemptive businesses which bless others, renew culture, and create value (not just capture value).
The freedom to take your God-given space in the world—and be you.
Conclusion
Our mission is to build a more-connected world where opportunities have no boundaries.
By accelerating U.S. businesses and empowering global workers, we are building a future where everyone can take their God-given space.
That’s what ‘Anavah’ means—and it’s what we will always do.
Chris, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Outsourcing is a dirty word in the United States.
The word ‘Outsourcing’ conjures up negative thoughts of poor customer service, lost American jobs, and exploitative working conditions.
But, outsourcing does not have to be this way.
In fact, I’ve personally seen outsourcing do the exact opposite.
On average, our overseas teammates see a 3x increase in their compensation and a 93% satisfaction score by working for our client partners. For the first time, a company is investing in their growth and development.
And, our clients rave about how adding overseas talent meaningfully increased their revenue and U.S. teammate quality-of-life so that now they can afford to hire more roles in the United States!

I started this business on accident.
Three American companies approached me with the same problem: they were overwhelmed with painful operational bottlenecks—often tedious tasks at odd hours. Tasks that no one on their team wanted to do.
Previously, I’d built an incredible overseas team of 20 professionals. These teammates were highly qualified, highly educated, and highly motivated—they just happened to live in a lower cost of living country, where high-paying jobs are limited.
So, I started connecting U.S. businesses to top overseas professionals—and a business was born.
Anavah Talent is a top overseas talent partner that brings together high-growth companies & top 1% overseas talent.

Since inception, we’ve brought on top clients like Goop, Recess Pickleball, and Y-Combinator startups like Alinea Invest. We’ve helped over 30 U.S. companies build incredible overseas teams to solve their most painful operational bottlenecks.
Our thesis is simple: businesses need global talent to thrive in the 21st century. Global talent density is at its highest level in human history. But, it’s never been harder to get started. Anavah Talent is the white-glove talent partner that brings everyone together.
At Anavah Talent, we are building a more-connected world where opportunities have no boundaries. By accelerating U.S. businesses and empowering global workers, we are building a future where everyone can take their God-given space. That’s what ‘Anavah’ means—and it’s what we will always do.
Our goal is to be the preferred talent partner for a small group of highly-engaged U.S. businesses and the home for top overseas freelancers from highly-educated countries like the Philippines.
To support clients, we aim to build an incredible client-service culture where we anticipate client needs, solve client problems, and deliver exceptional value. And, we hope clients grow and hire many more roles from us—driving a flywheel of recurring revenue.
To support candidates, we aim to build an incredible community of talent resources so new workers can leave BPOs and enter freelancing. We hope candidates view our company as a genuine resource and refer us to other top candidates so our talent community grows organically—driving a pipeline of premier overseas talent.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Business is actually very simple.
We often overcomplicate it.
Businesses solve a problem, ideally a painful problem, for a specific group of customers.
And, their reward for solving the problem is often money—which gets reinvested back in the business to pay for things like employee wages.
At the end of the day, our company solves a specific problem for a specific group of customers.
Too many businesses lose sight of the problem they are supposed to solve.
And, they forget about consistently taking care of their specific group of customers.
At Anavah Talent, we’ve built a strong reputation with both our U.S. clients and our overseas teammates.
We are values-driven—and we have stories to prove it.
Here’s a few things that we’ve done to build our reputation:
Inherent Value → Our recruiting team views each candidate as a person (and not just an application).
For example, we had a candidate whose asking rate was well-below what we felt she was worth. Instead of acquiescing to her rate, we paid her well-above what she asked. This cost Anavah Talent significantly, but it was the right thing to do. We do the right thing, even when it goes against our own interests.
Dignity of Work → Whether it’s a client treating a candidate poorly or a prospect involved in potentially nefarious activities, we always stand up for what is right and do right by our stakeholders. We are committed to providing dignified work. And, we aren’t afraid to lose revenue in order to maintain that promise.
Global Connection → We help U.S. businesses feel comfortable with global talent. And, we help global talent transition into remote work. Our recruitment process is intentional—designed to build genuine relationships. When it clicks for both clients and candidates, it’s truly magical. Our process works—we have the testimonials to back it up. We deliver real results.
Empowerment → We care deeply about empowering workers. Whether it’s their first remote job or their fifth, our recruiters get to know each candidate on a personal level. Candidates rave about our recruiters, who make them feel comfortable and advocate on their behalf.
And, due to remote work, we’ve seen candidates increase their compensation by 10x, eliminate their 4+ hour daily commute, and spend more significantly time taking care of their families. And, we’ve helped U.S. teammates significantly improve their revenue and quality-of-life.
Redemptive Entrepreneurship → We view our clients and teammates as true partners—and we are committed to supporting them. While not required, we go above-and-beyond to support both financially and vocationally.
We’ve helped teammates land a dream job, given gifts for teammate baptisms, helped family members find work, and provided paid sick time for medical emergencies. And, we go above-and-beyond to help clients drive new business, support overworked employees, and truly delight customers.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
The story of how we landed Goop Kitchen is my favorite because it shows how hard we work to delight our customers.
Goop Kitchen approached us in mid-June about adding overseas customer support teammates.
They were experiencing hypergrowth, but their small U.S. customer support team was overworked.
To make matters worse, there were several employee emergencies all at the same time.
The remaining U.S. teammates were working long hours (including weekends) to make things work.
While Goop Kitchen had never worked with overseas teammates before, they needed help fast.
Anavah Talent built Goop Kitchen an overseas support team in less than two weeks.
We custom-sourced, interviewed, and found incredible Philippines-based teammates who had direct experience in their industry, who knew their specific systems, and could work their timezones.
Our team worked hard to deliver candidates—even working on July 4 to ensure a seamless go-live.
Goop Kitchen’s teammates and customers have specifically mentioned (and thanked) our overseas teammates for their incredible service and commitment.
And, our teammates have said working for Goop Kitchen has been the highlight of their professional career.
