We were lucky to catch up with Chris Cassius recently and have shared our conversation below.

Chris , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project I’ve made so far is my album “Angels Ova East”. I told my story of internal conflicts , hardships , betrayal and optimism. Growing up in East Baltimore I’m sure my story parallels with that of many people in impoverished neighborhoods. I purposely chose the album title because I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to represent where I’m from and most importantly people from a place like It.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am Chris Cassius from Baltimore maryland. I began my music journey at 16 years old. Music was something my relatives dabbled in and It peaked my interest. One day I mentioned It to my mom fearing she would say no but she encouraged me. I take my music very seriously I admire a lot of well thought out artists main stream and underground. I do my best to reflect the same quality and care.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

One of my biggest goals being a creative is to let the youth know they can do It too. I want the young people in my community to be aware that It doesn’t stop at football or basketball the options are endless. I hope that the work I’m doing along with my peers will etch out a path in my city for other to traverse freely.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

My social following is in no way the biggest but it’s solid ! I achieved this by staying true to myself and being transparent . Sometimes projects may be delayed I don’t just announced the push back I let my following know exactly why and what’s going on. I think being so transparent has brought ppl closer to me in a sense. I pride myself on this transparent manner because honesty is always key
