Hi Chosen, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
While in school I had a name already picked out with the acronyms to match! While spending time with Jesus one day, He told me that I’m “Chosen”. I then instantly thought about my business name again and instantly it clicked. I won’t be doing services like everyone else I will be doing them God’s way, the CHOSEN way. Thus came Chosenswayskincare.


Chosen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jamie but I go by Chosen. Born and raised in Mobile,AL, I relocated to Jacksonville FL in 2016 and began my career in Esthetics and Waxing in 2022. I got into the skincare business due to my love for makeup which bloomed into a love for waxing as I progressed through Esthetician School. I literally LOVE TO WAX! It’s my PASSION! I enjoy the clients reaction once they see results whether with a Facial or with a Wax service. I also fell in love with skin while in school, but it’s something about waxing that has swept me off my feet! I believe that when it comes to clients it’s always QUALITY over QUANTITY! I go above and beyond for my clients because without them, where would I be?


What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele honestly is Consistency in posting content on all social media platforms, making sure I’m passing out business cards whenever I’m out,FAITH, and BELIEF in my business and in myself that I can and will achieve the goals that I have set and gain more clientele and last but not Least FAITH and TRUST in Christ Jesus.


How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I can remember when I graduated from school. A month later I got a job out of the field that my business is in and began working overnight while still building my business and taking appointments in the morning sometimes at 8 am after just doing a 9 pm -5 am shift and getting my daughters ready for school and off to school. I had to go from just focusing on school and home, to having to figure out how I was going to manage day time appointments and still make sure my family was taken care of while getting enough rest for work. It was a very tiring time but it definitely taught me time management.
