Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chloe Morales. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chloe, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most meaningful projects I have ever done as an artist is my portfolio I created for admissions into art school.
As art students we were given a task: create 10 pieces with one theme, in one semester. We had to showcase our skills and create an impactful portfolio.
I chose my theme as “The Emotional Connection Between Humans and Animals.”
In this project I created 10 pieces that represented different emotions that we feel as humans, and that animals too feel. The connection we can make with the animal kingdom always brought great curiosity to me since I was a child. Anyone with pets understands the bond you can create, where they become like family.
One of my favorite pieces was Series 7. This piece was the showcase of anger, it showed the extreme rage a cheetah can have during a fight or flight response and equally how we as humans respond this way.
It was meaningful to me because of the root of how we connect. As a believer in the God of Israel, and the modern western church, I can see how our creator has knit a bond between humans and animals. It’s fascinating how they too can have emotions like us, yet they were not given a soul/spirit/the breath of life like spoken about in the Bible.
It has always been a goal of mine to inspire others to think deeper and be curious about the world we live in. Every sign from nature points to the one true God and it has deeply impacted how I create my art.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Chloe’s Corner is a fine arts business. I started as doing commissions and selling a few pieces at The Red Thread LLC in Shawnee, KS 7 years ago. Since then I have created my own online business and have served as a vendor in many Kansas City pop up events.
I am a self taught mixed media artist with a passion for sharing the beauty I see in the world into the art I create.
I sell original paintings, drawings, handmade crafts, and I do commissioned based work. This includes anything from architectural drawings, pet portraits, figure paintings etc. I specialize in landscape and animals paintings.
The mission of Chloe’s Corner is to glorify God through the work I create, fuel creativity in my customers, and create a fascination for the world we live in through my art.
I sell art on my website at www.chloescorner.art on my Etsy shop ArtByChloesCorner and in person at vendor events in Kansas City, MO.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn as a new blossoming artist was the definition of what art is.
I had in my head a black and white depiction of what art was. I told myself that it had to be a perfect hyper realistic drawing or painting. I would only use graphite and acrylic paint.
It was like I put myself in a box at the jump. Every drawing book and video I followed to a tea and I felt there was nothing else out there.
Thanks to the inspiration of other artists and my amazing teachers in high school- I learned that it can be so much more.
It can be a passionate contemporary collage, a loose sketch in sharpie, an elaborate portrait… or not! Art can be so many things and I had to unlearn the expectations I had set on myself to be a “perfect” artist.
I wish more artists would be encouraged the way I was by my mentors in my life. Your art matters. Your art is a reflection of your heart. It is the soul to this life we live in.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Shop locally and tell everyone about it along the way.
I think one of the most beautiful parts of the creative community is it builds a family. When you build a relationship with artists from in the community it not only helps the artist but you as a person will stay inspired.
One of the parts I love about being an artist is meeting other ones. Ones that can create something I don’t know how to make. Like local potters, candle makers, embroidery artists, etc.
I support them, they support you. That’s how our economy should be. Locally based and filled with intentionality and love.
As a society we should normalize having unique pieces instead of a factory cookie cutter taste in art. We need those individuals in the art community that pour their heart into their work and have a community to support them in that journey.
