We were lucky to catch up with Chloe Geeson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chloe, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
During the summer of July 2021 I signed with an acting agent called “Joanne Watkinson”. She runs weekly classes relating to drama, modelling, dance etc… I joined her classes quite some time before this I believe it was in 2017 that I joined, at this point I was only 17. Knowing her personally she has been such a huge inspiration to me and I love working with her. I have learnt so much as a student and I can’t wait to keep on learning!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
How it all started: I had just left high school, and I was 16 at the time, I knew I had spent most of my teen years having a passion for singing, so I decided to upload my first YouTube video. This was frightening to me, I consider myself a shy introverted person and I still am today at 26. But since then I’ve been working on my craft trying to get better by listening to my audience and gain a following alongside taking classes.
To work on my craft even further I took music lessons as well as acting classes. I started playing guitar at age 18, and I consider it my favourite instrument.
What services do I provide as an artist: The kind of services I provide are concerts private and public and sharing my craft online and responding to my audience.
What kind of artist am I: I cover a wide range of genres from singer-songwriter to punk, rock to country. Anything I love I will pretty much sing.
Original music: I have a selection of my own original music on my social media pages. I even have my first album called “STARS”. I hope to keep working on my own music and I hope to release some more soon!
What am I proud of: I am proud of myself for making my first album “STARS” it took me a full year it was a lot of work but worth it.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Absolutely! The music journey for me has not been easy I’ve been told by many that I do not possess the talent for singing by many people. I’ve even experienced cyber-bullying as a result. But if it is what you love to do, and you take classes, get better, take lessons then the only person who can stop you is you. It is important to never listen to haters even though they’re technically your biggest fan!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Getting any kind of reward for your hard-work means a lot. It’s tough being an unsigned individual artist especially with no team to guide you, but the best reward by far is that one fan you’re their number one, and it’s amazing. I personally love the support, I love reading comments or messages from the fans.
