We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chloe Driese a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chloe , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I learned to do gymnastics by practicing a lot and watching my coach and older gymnasts do the skills. I also watch videos to see how to do things like handstands and flips. Knowing what I know now, I could’ve practiced more at home, like doing stretches and splits every day to get more flexible faster. The most important skills were learning how to balance and having strong arms and legs because you need those for almost everything in gymnastics.
When I got advanced to the next level, I was excited, but I also worried about being ready for the new challenges. The skills were harder, and I wasn’t sure if I could keep up. But with more practice and not giving up, I learned that I was ready, even if it felt tough at first!

Chloe , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Chloe Driese, an 8-year-old gymnast from Georgia, and gymnastics has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents noticed how much I loved the sport early on and saw how disciplined and laser-focused I was from the start. I was always flipping around the house, practicing my skills any chance I got. It wasn’t long before a coach noticed the same thing. That’s when I started training competitively. Now, I have my own YouTube channel called @chloed_gymnast, where I share gymnastics tutorials, stretches, and tips for young gymnasts like me. I also recently started a segment called ‘Let’s Talk Gymnastics,’ where I interview experienced gymnasts and coaches to learn from their journeys.
I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as a gymnast, especially when I moved up to a new level. The routines are harder, but I love pushing myself. What sets me apart is that I know exactly how it feels to be nervous about learning new skills, and I try to encourage other gymnasts to stay confident and keep practicing, no matter how hard it gets.
For my followers and fans, I want them to know that gymnastics is not just about doing flips—it’s about discipline, confidence, and having fun while learning. My channel is a space for anyone who wants to improve their gymnastics or just be inspired to try something new. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, I hope my content helps you reach your goals!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative gymnast is seeing all the progress I’ve made over time. When I finally master a skill that I’ve been working on for weeks, it feels amazing. I love being able to share my journey with others through my YouTube channel and seeing how it helps other gymnasts feel inspired to keep going. It’s also really rewarding to connect with my followers, hear their stories, and know that I’m helping them learn and grow.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my biggest goal is to inspire other young gymnasts to believe in themselves and never give up, even when things get hard. I want to show that with practice, discipline, and focus, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Through my YouTube channel and tutorials, I hope to make gymnastics more accessible and fun for beginners, while also challenging more experienced gymnasts to push themselves. My mission is to build a community where we can all grow together, share our love for gymnastics, and encourage each other along the way.
