Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chloe Daniels. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Chloe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I manage my own social media account in addition to another account for my church. I think it is important to run my own social media to keep a personal connection to the people interacting with my account. Even though it can be hard to remember to post or to make content, I set reminders for myself of when I should post to keep myself accountable to keeping the page updated.
Chloe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the photography world in the past four years and over the course of that time, I was drawn to the community that is surrounding creatives and the fact that photography is typically a male-dominated sphere and I wanted to be someone who contributed to the change of that. I have learned to be flexible and to listen to both my peers and my clients and know when it is important to stick to what I know and when it is important to learn from other people, which is something I am still actively pursuing today. I also strive to create a positive and calm environment on set; I want to make people feel comfortable and confident. I am proud to be a person who works hard to pursue my goals even when challenges arise.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I am still currently building up a social media presence, however, I feel it is important to be active on social media. I think that posting stories or keeping your posts in your feed updated or even just reposting other people posts can be great ways to get your name out there. I also believe that putting your social media handles on all your business cards and website can be a great way for people to find you as well. I would say that it is also helpful to tag people who are working on projects with you too so that if they repost it, then you are getting more eyes on your account. It’s hard to grow your social media account, but I believe that it is something that you can’t neglect even if it seems like it is going nowhere.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and a creative is being able to just create something beautiful. Being able to photograph the light in a certain way or being able to take a portrait of someone to boost their confidence, or even something as simple as being able to capture the moments at a wedding or party or other event to bring pause to our busy world. I love being able to see a moment and then capture it to save it for other people to be able to see my vision as well. I like being able to show people the world through my eyes.
