We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chloe Beaugard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chloe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
October of 2021 I decided that I no longer wanted to do things that didn’t make me happy. One of those things was my job at the time. I was depressed, and I hated waking up every morning. I felt unfulfilled. So I decided to quit. With a little saving and no job lined up, I put in my resignation. My friends and family thought I had lost my mind. Despite this, I felt bold and free and happy.
As my savings started to dwindle, I knew I had to find a way to make consistent income. The idea of returning traditional 9-5 job made me sick. Eventually, I decided I wanted to give real estate a chance. Pursuing a career in real estate gave me the freedom I craved and the income I needed.
I must be honest, the first few months of my career I had moments of missing the stability that my old job gave me. One year later, I’m so glad I stuck it out. I’ve grown in ways I never imagined I would. The risk I took in 2021 strengthened my faith in God and myself. I also feel brave enough to be myself and make decisions for myself. Before, I lacked confidence in my abilities and felt I had to be a certain way to succeed . Plus I’ve met some amazing people!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a real estate estate agent who specializes in Apartment Locating. Before I got started, I had no idea an Apartment Locator has to be a real estate agent. When I decided to pursue a career in Real Estate. I thought I would first try apartment locating just to test the waters. I connected with an Apartment Locating company and found out I needed to be licensed. They hired me and gave me 10 weeks to get licensed. I started in July of 2022.
Consistency is key in this field. You have to be disciplined enough to keep working even when you’re not making money or you will never make money. Honestly, consistency was never my strength. Apartment locating has helped me become more consistent. I’m most proud of the fact that I didn’t quit when I didn’t see the fruit of my labor immediately.
I give my best to every client I work with. I offer them the service that I would want to receive. Moving is stressful. I help to relieve some of that stress. You tell me what you’re looking for. I find options for you, set up your tours, and provide you with any lease related information.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been referrals. My clients telling their friends and family about my services is amazing! I’ve also started posting more apartment locating content on TikTok. That has also been a great source for me!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Letting go of the idea that I have to imitate someone who is successful at apartment locating to also be successful helped. I started to see growth most when I showed my personality more. With so many other locators and real estate agents to choose to to work with, I realized people want to work with me for me.
