We were lucky to catch up with Chloe Amour recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chloe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I wish I would have started sooner. In porn world, once you start hitting your mid to late 20s, the way you get casted changes bc you’re no longer in the “teen” category. You’re seen more as a “babe” and once you’re around your late 20s and beyond, companies will try to book you as a “milf”. You always have the choice to say yes or no to what jobs you take and want to be casted as. It’s bittersweet, bc when I got into the industry I was 22. I lived in my agency’s model house for about 2 weeks and the other 3 girls staying there were 18 and 19 so I felt old but I knew I wouldn’t be ready to do porn at younger ages. I already felt at 22, that I was “too young” to be doing this until I met other girls in my agency. I was recruited into the industry by my first agency bc they saw that I had did Playboy. In the adult industry, there’s not really any mentorship. You literally have to learn on your own and learn as you go. I was active my first 5years from April 2013 – December 2018 then took an intentional year off for 2019. I had frilled my contracts with my agencies. I came back to shooting the first 3 months of 2020 and then the covid pandemic shut down production for about 7 months. I feel like the pandemic lasted 3years so the time just flew by. My break extended from 1year into a 5years hiatus. I got used to being able to work from home and focus on myself. As well, I entered a serious relationship where I didn’t have to work and was taken care of financially. This was with a person where I thought I was going to marry and have children with them. February of 2023 rolls around and I started to realize I didn’t want the same things with this person as I thought I did back in 2018. I broke off the relationship and made the decision to return to porn late July of 2023. Now I’ve been back in the industry for two years.

Chloe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At 22, I was recruited into the industry after shooting for Playboy Plus. I figured, I’m already naked on the internet. I didn’t think having sex on camera as a big deal. I was very free-spirited. I have my Playboy stage name and my porn stage name. For my first 5years, I was very active in the industry and was working full time. I shot mainstream porn, did paid solo camshows, paid live sex shows, was traveling all over the world working for different companies, was featuring dancing at various gentlemen’s clubs, doing private Snapchat and even started building content for my own website. This was before onlyfans. I’ve always been a multi-award nominee for Xbiz, AVN and XRCO. I’ve graced many magazine covers and dvd box covers. My agencies always treated me as a top priority. I as well used to attend different adult industry conventions so I could meet and greet with fans. I was experiencing and learning a lot about myself. There were a lot of firsts I did on camera, that I never did in my personal life. I didn’t give a blowjob until porn. I did my first threesome, my first orgy, my first anal and my first DP among other fetish-themed scenes in porn. I started to learn what I liked and didn’t like sexually. I did go through a period of body dysmorphia where I dropped a lot of weight. I was so young that I was still learning to be comfortable in my own skin. I am most proud of being brave enough to even do porn and stick with it. This is a choice where I felt there’s no turning back. I’ve had so many opportunities being in the adult industry that I’m truly grateful for. My brand is very versatile. I can play all kinds of characters and ethnicities. I have a wide range of capabilities I’m able to offer in my scenes. I’ve only gotten better at my job as the years go on. I learned how to dirty talk, I love POV and looking into the camera, I learned how to be sexy and feel confident, I learned how to take better care of myself, I came play submissive and dominant roles, etc. Since my return after my hiatus, I have continued to do more things on camera as my “firsts” that I don’t do in my personal life. When the camera is on, I turn into Chloe Amour. When I’m shooting, I try to be as authentic as possible. I feel like it’s important to my fans to get a taste of my personality as they watch my scenes.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I knew that the longer you wait to do certain categories of scenes, the better chance you have to get a higher/premium rate for the work you’re being booked for.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is that I didn’t have to have a college degree to bring in the type of income that I do. In my industry, the income is limitless. Your income is truly based on the efforts you put into your work and how much you’re working. It’s nice to be able to make your own schedule. I will say though, that if you are shooting a lot for production companies, you do have less time for yourself in your personal life. Your life kind of revolves around work bc you’re trying to fulfill all your commitments and reach different goals.
