We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chiquita Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chiquita, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to help individuals embrace their own natural beauty and to be confident within thy self. The mission behind my story is based upon how l felt as a woman growing up, I wasn’t very confident and my self esteem wasn’t at its highest. But, going through growth and understanding that going through life obstacles put me at a stand still on who I was as a woman and what I saw in myself. I began to feel stronger mentally, emotionally and began to express me the way I saw me. And, that’s being this woman l am today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am Chiquita better known as Chi-Chi. I am the CEO/ Creator of Naturale Beautie. I began my business in Jan. 2021. The reason l began my business was due to my own personal reasons of not being able to find true natural hair and skin products that l could trust enough without being disappointed in the end. I had natural hair and l purchased oils from Walmart one time, got home and it ended up to be water inside. So, after that incident l decided to just create my very own hair products after doing research on the many oils that were appropriate putting together. And, that’s how l created Naturale Beautie.

I started off with hair oils and hair mists to help with moisturizing, after that l got into my creativity mode and began understanding that the skin was another part of having healthy as well. Our skin is very important to maintain and l’ve always maintained my daily routine of skin cleansing. So, l decided to research and study appropriate products to use for the skin as well. That’s how l began with a hair and skin brand. A few of my hair products are: Hair Growth Oil, Tea Tree Calming Scalp Oil, Rose Water Hair Mist and etc. a few of my skin products are: Aloe Vera Facial Cleanser, Body Scrubs, Body Oils and etc.

These products are 100% natural with no alcohol infused included. They are trustworthy products and have you feeling confident in what you put on your body and hair at the end of the day.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Going through a lot prior to creating Naturale Beautie, l went through a mental break down after a very stressful and difficult break up. I lost myself tremendously. But, l then found a purpose of wanting to set some new foundations for me and my children. I wanted to create new opportunities and set a happy ending to the downfall that l had went through. The following year of Jan. 2021, l had decided to make changes to my happiness by wanting to succeed with creating my business and continuing my Associates Degree program in Health and Human Services, on which l graduated April 2023.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?

The way I would sell my products would be through social media or through community pop-up shops. But, l recently began working on my website to make ordering much more easier for my customers and for myself.

But, l do enjoy doing pop-up shops. It give me time to get to know my customers and hear their stories when going over products that they may be interested in.
