We recently connected with Chino Lucci and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chino , thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

I have always helped and advised people of essential knowledge when it come to life, business, relationships, goals, etc. My ultimate goal is for uplifting and building up the people. I got into skincare because hygiene is something everybody may not be the best in, but everyone can learn and be better at it. Hygiene may not be a priority for a lot of people, but it is very vital when it comes to self-love and self care. Building up confidence just by taking care of your skin; taking care of you. Self Healing, self love should be pivotal in regards to our quality of life. That’s one of the reasons why I’m here.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

When I thought of products I wanted to sell, it was a no brainer. I came up with a product, an all natural body wash I wanted men to use and benefit from, since there wasn’t a lot of natural skincare products for men who cared about their skin. When I dropped it, women took a liking to the product as well, so I made it unisex. After that, I developed more products, like natural body butters, toners, and facial products and essentially expanded my line for all people to use, and I somewhat became a “miracle worker” so to speak. I never claim to provide miracles, but if it’s God’s design for me to promote healing, and people love it say “it’s a miracle my skin look like this”, then so be it, I’ll own that!

I’ve always had a business mindset, along with creating, and having an artistic wavelength. I’ve had a lot of experience in the fashion and music world as well. So I’ve been able to effectively incorporate all of those things into my brand, which makes Poseidon’s Neptune, different from other typical skincare lines. I’m a multifaceted black man of God, so he’s blessed me with talents I took for granted at different points in my life, but now I’ve mixed them all together, and formed something you won’t see anywhere else like this. It’s not just about skin, it’s about you, me, and the people as a whole.

Some of things I am most proud of is one, being I am a man doing well in an industry that is mostly dominated by women. I won’t say I’m the only one, but I’m one of a small few. It’s not normal or the usual. Women have always cared about their skin and appearance. Men are now putting more emphasis on their skin, instead of just clothes, shoes, and jewelry. We can’t just look good on the outside anymore because it can be detrimental to our health. We have to take care of the temple under the material things. And not just physically, mentally and spiritually as well. Everything aligns and works in unison with each-other. If any part of that breaks down, so will the rest in due time. That’s the beauty of it. One of the signs of God’s greatness and wonder. So we have to do our part with what we have, and do right by it. I’m proud of coming from nothing to be here now and still not at the pinnacle. I can only imagine what’s else is in store. If my faith, my resilience, and my consistency got me here, then those same principles will take me even further.

So, all in all, my brand is not just a skincare brand, it’s a life energy brand that is needed by all of us. If people want a piece of that, than you can look no further. Anybody with a free mind for self healing should definitely give my line a shot.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I’ve made many mistakes and failed at many things, I’ve accomplished just as much. I’ve done things I’m not proud of and I’ve also had to pivot and correct myself. There’s been times when I started something and didn’t finish. I tried my hand in sports, music, college, business, and relationships in general. Whether it was out of frustration, the disappointment, not having resources, enough influence, wisdom, money, lack of knowledge, or not having enough support. Sometimes we want things but don’t want to take on the process it takes to get there. You can’t eat a cake without letting it bake first. Before you were able to ride a bike, you had to fall and get some scrapes, bumps, and bruises. Without the process, you can’t progress. I’ve been down on my luck quite a few times, but I’ve never deviated from my core. I’ve always stood tall and solid, and remained humble. People have a tendency to fall and then crawl back into a space of misery. Pain will happen. Hurt will happen in life. But, you cannot stay in it. You have to get up and learn to walk again, and run out of that dark place. Babies crawl and walk, fall, get up, and do it over and over until they’re running wild. And they do it without even thinking. I’ve watched my 11 year old son do it and it’s been beautiful raising him through ups and downs of life. So, we have to do the same. We are more resilient then we even know. So for me, I’ve forgiven and gave myself a pat on the back, as we all should. I clap and congratulate others. I’m super proud of who I am, knowing what I’ve come from. When God put me in the fire, I’ve been on fire ever since. I’ve flourished and embraced it. And, there won’t be any flaming out. I’ve prayed and prepared for everything he has for me. God is good.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

The main thing that helped me build my reputation period, is just being solid and a stand up guy. I’ve had my mishaps with people in my life but I’ve always uplifted everybody. I would like to think I’ve inspired and motivated people in my life and I thank God everyday for the ones who’ve helped and pushed me to be great. I’ve learned from a lot of them. It takes a village. So with that being said, I makes sure to remain grounded and humble in my walk. Attract good energy and move rooms. When you do that and show genuine love and respect to the people, for the most part you’ll bet it back. That energy trickles down, follows you, and grows. I think that is the major key to building a good reputation regardless of what market you’re in.
