We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chichi “Jasmine” Perez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chichi “Jasmine” below.
Chichi “Jasmine”, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It’s really easy to become, overwhelmed and overstimulated by so many things in life like work, expanding my business, learning, making time for friends and family, and also my own self development and nurture. There are days that I forget or struggle to make that time for myself, to really be grounded, so I can show up for myself and those around me.
That’s why stability matters so deeply to me that’s why habitual things that keep me leveled inspired soul of The Jasmine spa. The body (the visual aspect) was inspired by my beautiful niece Skylar, who is a creative brown baby who loves all thing cute & pink (just like her auntie😊) to inspire her to not only shoot for her dreams and passions, but that she also is an elegant lady in the making!
That’s what The Jasmine Spa represents to me is a moment to slow down and fully savor life’s tiny intricate moments in between the grand, whether is a mindful deep breath, a lighting of a holistic candle down to a sip of calming tea.
I invite you to join me at The Jasmine Spa for simple and mindful reminder practices throughout your day, a commitment to gratitude and simplicity building a community of people who will consciously slow down together.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Chichi and I’ve always been and healer, but I really didn’t know how to put that into work so I started out giving reiki massages and doing ceramics in my spare time. I would make ceramic candles, lots of people in my family don’t have a good balance with stress management, and that’s always been something that I felt provided in contributing to those that I love is relaxation, so creating The Jasmine Spa with the mantras, affirmations, holistic candles and teas was really something naturally I felt that I was giving back not only to my family but to the world which is also my family. If we could all just take a moment to relax a bit I feel that could do a world of good.
It’s not just who the business is it’s who I am at my very core is wanting to inspire people for a change within themselves to be their better selves, the best selves that they’re able to achieve. I feel like that’s true love.
I think a huge problem with in the world is there’s not enough mindfulness we don’t breathe correctly which before I didn’t understand it there’s an actual correct way to breathe. At The Jasmine Spa, the goal is to incite more mindfulness, a reconnection to the body, the mind and the soul. And honestly, I think that’s what sets The Jasmine Spa apart because there’s an actual commitment to change into growth.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Of course, I believe in life, the art of pivoting is pivotal(pun intended lol) for a growth. And I say that because when I started originally, I started with massages and quickly found out that I didn’t resonate with male clientele, it just didn’t speak to me, however when I pivoted to lashes and beauty, it made me feel as though it wasn’t work it made me feel that I was just getting my sisters ready for whatever occasion that they came in for and I truly feel that’s when you succeed within your business, when it feeds you more than just financially.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
That’s a good question, I feel resilience is instrumental towards any business and currently I’m going through my own portion of that. i’ve had to relocate due to personal matters in my life so many things have changed for me in the past year, and I want my business to reflect that, so what I am currently in the works of is revamping my business that reflects where I am in life. but this process definitely isn’t easy. It’s been so many highs and lows between moving and keeping up clientele and having to leave certain clientele because I moved from Las Vegas to North Carolina to California and throughout that whole thing, not having a reliable clientele and having to start over, has definitely been overwhelming but not saying that I’m not up to the challenge because this is what creating a brand is about.
