We recently connected with Chiara Cucinella and have shared our conversation below.
Chiara, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
The Risk That Changed Everything
As a single mother, every decision I make carries weight, not just for me but for my two sons. For years, I worked tirelessly in the corporate world, climbing the ladder and building a stable life for my family. But deep down, I felt unfulfilled. The grind left me exhausted, with little time to truly enjoy life with my children. I always believed I was meant for more than just helping someone else achieve their dream. I wanted to build something meaningful—a legacy I could be proud of while showing my sons the value of pursuing one’s passion.
That desire planted the seed for what would eventually become my business, Casa Chiara Organizing. But the road to turning that idea into reality was anything but smooth.
Starting a business as a single mother was one of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken. I left the security of a stable paycheck, insurance, and benefits. I traded predictability for a leap into the unknown. The fear of failure loomed over me—what if I couldn’t provide for my kids? What if my business idea flopped? But I knew that staying in the corporate world meant settling, and I refused to accept that as my story.
The challenges started immediately. With limited savings, I had to be incredibly frugal. Every dollar counted, and every purchase had to have a purpose. I juggled launching my business while caring for my boys, who were looking to me for stability and reassurance. Long days turned into sleepless nights as I poured over business plans, learned the ins and outs of running a company, and figured out how to market myself with minimal resources.
I faced doubt—not just from others but from within. People questioned if this was the right move, whether I should play it safe for the sake of my family. At times, I second-guessed myself too. But every time I looked at my sons, I knew I had to keep going. I wanted to show them that it’s possible to take control of your life, even when the odds seem stacked against you.
Through sheer determination and belief in my vision, I launched Casa Chiara Organizing. I focused on creating a service that wasn’t just about decluttering homes but about helping people find peace and fulfillment in their spaces. I believed that if I poured my heart into what I was doing, others would see the value in it.
There were setbacks, of course—clients who fell through, moments when I felt like I was running in circles, and times when I questioned whether I’d made the right choice. But slowly, things began to fall into place. Word spread, and my small business started gaining traction.
Looking back now, I see how much this risk changed my life. Today, I have a thriving business that not only provides for my family but also allows me to live out my passion every day. I’ve created a safe, calm, and joyful home environment for my boys, and I’m helping other families do the same.
The journey wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I’ve learned that sometimes the biggest risks lead to the most rewarding outcomes. And through this experience, I’ve shown my sons—and myself—that fear doesn’t have to hold you back.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Chiara, the founder of Casa Chiara Organizing. I’m a luxury professional organizer and decluttering master with a passion for transforming chaotic spaces into serene, functional homes. My journey into this industry began with a deeply personal realization: our environment plays a significant role in our mental well-being.
After spending over a decade in the corporate world, I found myself yearning for more—a purpose that went beyond office walls. As a single mother, I’ve always prioritized creating a calm, nurturing space for my two sons. I realized that I could take this skill, born out of necessity, and turn it into a business to help others find the same peace and balance in their homes.
In 2023, I took the leap and launched Casa Chiara Organizing, leaving behind the stability of corporate life to pursue a career that felt meaningful and aligned with my values. “Casa Chiara” means “Clear Home” in Italian, a nod to both my heritage and my mission: to help people create clear, organized spaces that inspire clarity and calmness in their lives.
What I Offer
I specialize in working with busy moms and individuals who feel overwhelmed by clutter and disorganization. My services include:
• Decluttering & Organization: From pantries and closets to entire homes, I create functional and easy-to-maintain systems tailored to each client’s needs.
• Custom Storage Solutions: I recommend and implement storage products that suit your space and lifestyle.
• Mindset Coaching: Decluttering is often an emotional process, and I provide a safe, judgment-free environment to help clients let go of what no longer serves them.
• Lifestyle Transformation: My goal isn’t just to organize a space; it’s to create systems that transform how my clients live and interact with their homes.
The Problems I Solve
Many of my clients come to me feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or stuck. Clutter and disorganization can create anxiety, drain energy, and hinder productivity. I help by:
• Simplifying their lives through decluttering.
• Designing intuitive systems that make it easy to stay organized.
• Reducing the mental load that comes with managing a chaotic household.
My ultimate goal is to give my clients back their time, energy, and peace of mind so they can focus on what truly matters—whether that’s spending time with family, pursuing hobbies, or simply enjoying their home.
What Sets Casa Chiara Apart
What makes Casa Chiara Organizing unique is my holistic approach. For me, organizing isn’t just about creating neat rows of bins or labels. It’s about helping people rediscover joy and peace in their spaces. I understand that decluttering can be emotional, and I pride myself on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel supported and empowered.
Additionally, my background as a single mom gives me a unique perspective. I know what it’s like to juggle responsibilities and the importance of systems that are both practical and sustainable.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud of the lives I’ve impacted through Casa Chiara Organizing. Hearing from clients who say their homes feel lighter, calmer, and more functional is incredibly rewarding. Beyond that, I’m proud of taking a risk to build a business that aligns with my purpose and shows my sons the power of courage and determination.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Unlearning the Idea That Asking for Help Is a Weakness
For much of my life, I believed that asking for help was a sign of weakness. As a single mother, I felt an even stronger need to prove to myself—and to others—that I could handle everything on my own. Whether it was raising my sons, managing a household, or building my career, I carried the weight of responsibility alone, convinced that reaching out for support would mean I wasn’t strong enough.
This belief followed me into the early stages of starting my business, Casa Chiara Organizing. I was determined to figure everything out myself—from creating a business plan to managing marketing and client relations. But as my business grew, so did the demands on my time and energy. I found myself spread thin, juggling my role as a mom and an entrepreneur, often feeling overwhelmed and on the brink of burnout.
The turning point came one evening as I sat in my cluttered workspace, ironically struggling to stay organized while running a business dedicated to organization. It hit me that I couldn’t do it all alone—and I didn’t have to. That night, I made a decision to change my mindset. I began reaching out to mentors for advice, delegating tasks I couldn’t manage, and even leaning on my support network for encouragement.
What I learned was life-changing: asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength. It shows self-awareness and a willingness to grow. It allows others to contribute to your success and often leads to better results than you could achieve alone.
Since unlearning this lesson, I’ve not only become a better business owner but also a better mother and person. I’ve embraced collaboration and found joy in working with others to bring my vision to life. This shift has made me more empathetic toward my clients, too. I now understand how hard it can be to ask for help when it comes to decluttering and organizing their homes.
Today, I encourage my clients to let go of the guilt and hesitation around seeking support. Whether it’s creating a more functional space or leaning on loved ones, asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth and referrals. When I started Casa Chiara Organizing, I focused on providing a highly personalized, judgment-free, and empowering experience for my clients. That approach resonated deeply with them, and many of my early clients enthusiastically shared their positive experiences with friends, family, and colleagues.
Another key source has been social media, particularly Instagram. By showcasing before-and-after transformations, sharing organizational tips, and offering a glimpse into my process, I’ve been able to connect with a wider audience. It’s been an excellent platform to demonstrate my expertise and inspire potential clients to take that first step toward a clutter-free home.
Lastly, networking within my local community has been invaluable. Collaborating with real estate agents, interior designers, and small businesses has allowed me to reach people who are already seeking to improve their homes and lives. Building these partnerships has created a steady stream of referrals from professionals who trust my work.
Ultimately, I’ve found that providing exceptional service and genuinely caring about my clients’ needs has been the foundation of my growth. Happy clients naturally become ambassadors for my brand, and their stories inspire others to reach out.
