We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chiamaka Offorjebe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chiamaka below.
Chiamaka , appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was my aunt recognizing that her husband’s brother had a 9-year-old daughter living in a small village in Oko, Anambra State, Nigeria, and suggesting that this little girl should come to America to complete her education. At just 9 years old, I boarded a plane by myself, leaving behind my family, friends, and everything I had ever known, to start a new life in a country I had only seen in movies.
Looking back now, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my aunt and uncle for making such a life-changing decision. At the time, they understood the significance of their choice, but I don’t think they could have fully grasped the profound role they were playing in God’s vision for my life.
Hello, my name is Chiamaka Offorjebe, and I am a fashion and beauty model and lifestyle content creator based in Dallas. My journey in the modeling and content creation industry is one that I cannot separate from this story. It laid the foundation for everything I’ve achieved, and I often reflect on how different my life might have been if my aunt and uncle hadn’t extended that incredible kindness.
I’ve since worked with some of the most iconic brands, including Fenty Beauty, Marc Jacobs Fragrance, Glossier, and Spotify. In 2023, I had the privilege of returning to Nigeria, 18 years after leaving, to walk in the Lagos Fashion Show—the biggest in the country—and, most importantly, for my mom to witness the 9-year-old daughter she hadn’t seen in nearly two decades achieve such a milestone. In 2024, I traveled to South Africa with Spotify to explore the rich history of Amapiano music and celebrate South African culture.
My work has also allowed me to reconnect with my home continent, using my platform to showcase Africa’s beauty and give back to its communities. In 2024, with the help of my amazing social media community, we raised funds to donate school supplies to a village in Ghana, further cementing my commitment to being part of the solution.
This story of kindness is the foundation of who I am today, and it reminds me to live with gratitude and purpose.

Chiamaka , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Chiamaka, which means “God is beautiful,” but you can also call me “Chia.” I am a model and a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content creator. Fashion and beauty have always been a big part of who I am. Growing up in an African household, I wasn’t allowed to wear certain clothes—tight jeans, leggings, crop tops—or even makeup. Back then, my “makeup” was just lip gloss. Despite those restrictions, I found creative outlets for my passion. I participated in church fashion shows, school shows, and even the NAACP fashion show—basically anything that gave me the opportunity to step into the world of fashion and modeling. I was also obsessed with America’s Next Top Model and would imagine myself as one of the contestants, channeling the confidence they exuded.
My journey into professional modeling began in college, almost by chance. For my 21st birthday, I had a photo shoot, and my roommate encouraged me to seriously consider pursuing modeling. At the time, I had little knowledge about the industry, but I was determined to learn. I connected with photographers who were kind enough to help me build my portfolio, and that’s where everything started.
What began as a casual suggestion turned into my first major breakthrough: a campaign with Fenty Beauty in 2020. That experience was a defining moment for me. I realized that modeling wasn’t just a hobby or a passing interest—I had a real gift for it. From that point on, I became more intentional about my craft, dedicating myself to refining my skills and growing my presence on social media.
Today, aside from modeling and content creation, I also help brands find their creative style in ways that align with their products and values. I specialize in creating authentic, visually compelling campaigns that tell a story, connect with audiences, and build brand loyalty.
My journey has taught me the importance of passion, persistence, and authenticity. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter how far out of reach they may seem at first. What started as a dream of walking the runway has grown into a career that allows me to express my creativity, collaborate with amazing brands, and inspire others to embrace their unique beauty and style.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely! My creative journey is driven by a mission to inspire authenticity, celebrate individuality, and amplify the beauty of African culture and heritage on a global scale.
As someone who grew up in an environment where self-expression was limited, I’ve come to value the importance of embracing who you are and owning your story. Through my work as a model and content creator, I aim to create a space where others feel empowered to be confident, bold, and unapologetically themselves. Whether it’s through fashion, beauty, or lifestyle content, I want to show that there’s beauty in being unique and staying true to your roots.
A significant part of my mission is also to highlight the richness of African culture—its beauty, its people, and its stories. Having had the opportunity to return to Africa through my work, I’ve realized the importance of using my platform to shift narratives, showcase the continent’s vibrant essence, and give back to the communities that shaped me.
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire and connect with people worldwide by blending creativity, representation, and purpose. I want others, especially young girls like I once was, to know that their dreams are valid and that with faith, resilience, and hard work, they can carve out a path that’s entirely their own.
I am the woman I am today because of where I came from. I came from a place where electricity was not guaranteed 24/7, where running water from a faucet was a luxury, and where access to medical care was either limited or completely out of reach. My journey has shaped me, and I carry those experiences with pride and purpose.
Through my creative style and storytelling, I want to shed light on the beauty of my continent—its vibrant culture, its people, and its resilience—while also addressing the challenges that still exist. My platform is a tool for connection, empowerment, and impact. I am committed to using my voice, platform, and resources to perform acts of kindness that create real change, particularly for children like the nine-year-old girl I once was, living in a village with a big dream but limited opportunities.
My mission is to keep the act of kindness going, to open doors for others the way they were opened for me. Whether through highlighting African beauty and stories, collaborating with brands that share my values, or directly giving back to underserved communities, I want my work to be a reflection of purpose, hope, and possibility. This mission is at the heart of everything I do, and I hope it inspires others to believe in their dreams and to uplift those around them.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my social media presence has always been about staying focused on my craft, not the numbers. I never set out to gain a massive following or rack up a lot of likes. Instead, my focus has always been on creating something that would make someone say, “Wow, I want to recreate that.” I’ve challenged myself to give my audience my absolute best with every post, every pose, and every visual I share. Even now, I don’t feel like I’m at my best—I’m still learning, growing, and evolving—but that’s part of the journey.
What I’ve learned is that it’s easy to get distracted by the noise—the trending videos, the viral posts, and the race for more followers. But I believe the real key to success lies in focusing on your craft and sharing your genuine self with the world. View yourself as a brand, and focus on giving your audience high-quality content that’s true to who you are. The bigger audience will come naturally when you invest in your craft and nurture the community you already have.
Sometimes, we get so fixated on the numbers, but we often forget that these “numbers” represent real people from all over the world who clicked follow because something on your page resonated with them. They were moved enough to say, “Wow, I want to see more.” Your task now is to give them exactly what they came for. Nurture your current followers, because they are not only the ones who will help you grow—they’ll be your biggest advocates, sharing your posts and witnessing your journey. Give them a reason to stay, and they will help you build a loyal, engaged audience that will grow with you. Keep showing up for them, and the growth will follow.
