We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cheyenne McConnell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cheyenne , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I really wish I would have started my business sooner. In the latter part of 2017 to early 2028, I came up with my concept, of what is now my business. I was in the middle of one of the worse times in my life. I was going through my second divorce, and a single mom of two little kids. I didn’t have family or friends to help with my two little ones, as my father had passed a couple years prior, and my adoptive mother was a functional addict. Just a year prior, I was in the fight of my life, having two severe ear, skull, and bone surgeries m, due to an infection, that would leave me legally deaf and almost took my life. I knew that there had to be a better way to make a sustainable living. I wanted to be proactive and present in my children’s lives without having to work 80 plus hours a week, just to provide the bare minimum basics, and miss out on my children growing up.
I truly believe that if I had started sooner in my business venture that it would have been a game changer for the industry of social media, influencers, entertainment and more. It would have provided the initial training, monetization, understanding of the industry, break downs of each social platform, reform, development, and
help management companies and promoters understand why and whom they want on their brands and, would allow them to work with and represent some of the biggest names in the industry. It would have allowed me to not only copywrite material on learning and understanding the basics sooner, but it would have helped to teach others to upgain on their niche and how to do so properly with actual results.
However, I want to say that starting is scary and a huge leap of faith no matter where or when you start in a business you believe in. I belive that you start at the right time that is meant for you. Everything is meant to be by perfect design, and some things are created right on time even when you least expect it too. So, whenever you choose to start, it”s always best to start when you’re ready to give it your all!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up always wanting to be a singer/songwriter with the limelight. Although, I had published music, labels, producers, publicts, promoters and the whole nine yards, I still felt I was missing something. I felt like I was missing my true calling in the entertainment industry. I wanted to give other normal people chasing their dreams a true chance to become what they wanted. I felt like when I started in this industry no one really told me how things work, what they look for, and how to get started. It was almost like youre told what to do and how to do it. To me, that’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to learn the insurance and out of every aspect in entertainment and bring my knowledge to the table. From music, social media influencers, movie, TV, film, etc. I wanted to show peoole how to make money doing what they love and not having to sacrifice time with their families and children. I wanted peoole to know that it IS possible to live your dream and ve good at it. So, in late 2017 and early 2018 I started my journey on gathering up my inside contacts in the entertainent industy and interviewing them and learning every possible in and out I could. I studied all the social media platforms and how they specifically monitize content. I learned from the biggest brands and names in the industry on what specifics they look for when looking for the next star and celebrity. Once, I finished all my interviews and extensive research I built my entertainment company. I set out to give ordinary people chasing their dreams, a chance at knowledge and inner circle connections most people never have the opportunity to. I wanted the moms and dads of the world to finally be able to live their childhood dreams and make a living doing what they love. In this industry its hard to know who and what to trust but I made it easy and accessible for everyone. After years of hard work and dedication I decided to launch CMAC Entertainemnt full time in 2022.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve been on social media now for about 5 years. I’ve lost several accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers all to have to start over and rebuild. I really think sometimes starting over, re-branding yourself and taking a different approach matters. It can be the difference of sink or swim. It teaches you to drive and push yourself into new scopes and boundaries, that maybe even you didn’t know you had. I have always said that no matter ehat I would always be true to who I am and what I am. No more and no less. I promised myself to take breaks from social media to ground myself and to never compare myself to other people’s success. So, that would be my advice. Thus far its always worked for me and it always will as long as I am proud of me!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One particular lesson that sticks out to me that I had to unlearn is that no matter how hard you work, not everyone is made for this industry, or to become a celebrity. I know that sounds harsh to say but it’s true. This industry has less than 1% of people who actually have what a particular entertainment company. record label, movie set, brand etc. is looking for. This industrybis not a “everyone wins all” type of situation. However. I do believe if you aren’t made for it you may be made for it at another area or level, say maybe production or an assistant. I will saybthr more you know the better off you are. Knowledge is power.
