We were lucky to catch up with Cheyenne Dann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cheyenne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I feel like in order to be successful, you have to put your mind to it. I know everyone says that but very few people do it. Ive experienced amazing months where business is great but I’ve also experienced awful months where I constantly question myself and my business. You have to stick it through no matter how good or bad your business is doing. If people see you starting to fail they won’t support your business but if they see you have success and constantly posting and updating your clients then they will be more inclined to buy from you

Cheyenne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So they way I came about my business is I thought about it one day during summer 21′ and I stayed up all night doing research, and seeing all of the legalities of starting this business. Not even 24 hours later I was registering my name and my business in Florida. It was such a surreal experience but I used everything in my savings to start it so I had to follow through with my plans. In the state of Florida there a very few cookiers who make these beautiful intricate cookie designs and I wanted to be one of the elites! I spent countless hours practicing and giving away my cookies to get my name out. I’m talking months and hundreds of cookies.
I’m most proud of always willing to work with my clients, whether its creating a beautiful bridal set for a wedding, or making hundreds of logos for a corporate office. I’m always willing to design something beautiful for the special occasion!
My goal is to create a luxury experience and product without having my clients pay a luxury price for them.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first started Cakes and Cookies by Chey, I went with a more colorful logo, and just plain packaging. Well after a few months I decided to rebrand and change my logo, my packaging, better ingredients that are local. I completely changed everything and it honestly helped me grow more. I’m taken more seriously in the industry.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I definitely think what had helped me build my reputation was reaching out to local groups asking them to give me a shot. I would design cookies and then give them away for free and all I asked in return was for them to write an honest review.
