We were lucky to catch up with Cheyenne Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cheyenne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Yes! And frequently. I think it is so important and necessary to take time for yourself and explore the world. I travel at least once a month. It doesn’t even have to be anything crazy like a trip overseas. It can be a quick little getaway trip a few hours from home. My schedule is always packed with projects, traveling keeps me sane. I very rarely say no to a trip! Some of my best memories have been made out of town with my best friends.

Cheyenne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I grew up playing sports so my love and passion for the industry just grew over time. Once I stopped playing sports and fully committed to my studies, choosing a career path in sports was easy. Since graduating college, I’ve worked for big companies such as ESPN, The Kansas City Chiefs, and Bleacher Report. I got all these positions by not being afraid to take risks and through my strong desire to learn and create.
I would say I’m most proud of my ambition, honestly. I have heard so many no’s but I have never let those discourage me because the yes’s always come right on time. Working in sports is really a grind and you have to have a true love for the game to be happy in it.
I started my media company, CheyMedia. a couple years ago. I think it’s important to have hobbies outside of your career and what’s better than a hobby that will make you money? Since launching I’ve shot weddings, maternity pictures, out of town projects, and graduation photos.
CheyMedia is me, Cheyenne. It is an umbrella for everything I wish to do as a creative. It gives me the opportunity to help others as well as for me to grow and learn as a professional.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Covid-19 has pushed me to pursue passions outside of my career, like videography & photography. I started my media company, CheyMedia. I decided to rebrand and switch from CheyTV to Chey Media. CheyMedia came about because friends and family would always ask for my help on different projects and I decided it would be a fun and beneficial move to create something out of it.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative, for me, would have to be the process of each project. From the braining storming, to drafting, the several trial and errors, to the final product. I love it allllllll. There’s nothing like working so hard for something and seeing it come to life.
