We caught up with the brilliant and insightful CheyAnn Roemer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, CheyAnn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
That’s a great question. My goal with Greenville Custom Design is really focused on affordability and quality. I have noticed in the industry of custom goods and wedding services, quality can vary greatly and there tends to be a mindset of “you get what you pay for” and you have to spend large amounts of money to achieve your vision. I want to break that mold and be the person who gives you great quality, for a low price.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I originally began in the wedding industry and have slowly branched into custom goods as well. That’s why my company’s name is Greenville Custom Design. I wanted to be able to provide goods and services across industries, for business and personal use. I have a lot of offerings, including Polaroid guestbook services, custom wedding signs, custom embroidered goods, custom candles, and more!
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve established this company while maintaining a 9-5 career. I love what I do in my day job and I love what I’m able to do with Greenville Custom Design as well. I really enjoy being a vendor at weddings and at markets, it brings me so much joy.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Facebook and word of mouth have been the best source for me! I’ve really had to learn how to step out of my comfort zone and market myself as well. I really believe in what I’m doing, so I really enjoy being able to share that with my community.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing is seeing the look on my customer’s face when I deliver a product. It brings me so much joy seeing that my customer is happy with my creation.
In terms of my work within the wedding industry, it’s just being a small part of their wedding day! I love that I’m able to bring a bride’s vision to life. It makes what I do really matter.
