Cheval, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Once lost in the fog of postpartum depression, unsure of where life was headed, I decided to take a leap of faith. With a glimmer of hope and trust in God’s plan, I ventured into the unknown and started my own med spa. The road was bumpy, marked by uncertainty and doubt, but I persevered, fueled by the belief that something greater lay ahead.

Then, a twist of fate came in the form of a car accident, unexpectedly rewarding me with a sum of money. Unsure of what to do with it at first, I took a chance and invested it into my budding business. Doubt crept in, questioning my decision, but I pushed forward, determined to make the most of this opportunity.

Despite the initial doubts and fears, I refused to let them hold me back. With hard work, dedication, and a sprinkle of faith, my med spa began to flourish. Now, standing on the other side, I reflect on the journey – the risks taken, the obstacles overcome, and the rewards reaped. Today, as a successful business owner, I am proof that taking risks, even in the face of uncertainty, can lead to remarkable outcomes.

Absolutely! I’m delighted to share a bit about myself and what I bring to the table. My journey into the beauty and wellness industry stemmed from a deeply personal experience with postpartum depression. Struggling to find my footing as a new mom, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing, which ultimately led me to establish my own med spa, Drake’s Brow & Body Sculpting.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that someone else would come along and magically build my business for me. It was a mindset shift from being an employee to becoming the founder of my own enterprise. This realization dawned upon me when I recognized that if I wanted my business to succeed, I had to take charge and learn the ropes myself.

I had to immerse myself in various aspects of entrepreneurship, from understanding funding and business credit to mastering marketing strategies. Transitioning from the comfort of a structured job to the unpredictability of entrepreneurship meant diving headfirst into unfamiliar territories. Not only did I have to hone my craft in body contouring, but I also had to become proficient in marketing, financial management, and all the other facets that come with running a business.

It was a journey of self-discovery and growth, where I learned to embrace the challenges and uncertainties that come with entrepreneurship. By unlearning the employee mentality and adopting the mindset of a boss, I empowered myself to take ownership of my business’s success and pave my own path to prosperity.
