We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cheryl Shiver. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cheryl below.
Cheryl, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
So I came up with the name 60iZhip! What is Hip? Let me tell you! It’s a 60+ who loves life, who dances the Cha Cha Cha, who is a member of the Stepping Community, who goes to concerts, someone who is fashion savvy and grandparent, one who is brimming with confidence.
So my new line of hats, T shirts, jumpers and leisure wear is branded with 60iZhip So now the 60plusser can strut with style and confidence all the while letting the world know I am a 60plusser and 60iZhip!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
A little about myself, I am 67 year old bikini competitor. I started my fitness journey at the age of 63 in 2019. I got into fitness competition at the suggestion of my trainer Shawn Lewis. As the story goes I was in the mist of having an inground pool installed at my home.
Well my body was not quite ready for the bikinis that I wanted to wear on the regular (smile) So I hired a trainer who could get me in shape, i.e. a bikini body.
After a couple of sessions, my trainer Shawn saw how quickly my body was responding to the workout and asked if I had ever considered competing. The answer was no, but I excepted his challenge and in a little over 8 weeks later I was on stage competing and to date I have over 7 1st place medals!
I am a single mom, single homeowner and a licensed Realtor. I love dogs and I have to Giant Schnauzers Penelope and Olivia and I am originally so Los Angeles CA, Now residing in Georgia.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think what’s driving me on my new venture is what I said before. Representation. I feel that what I am doing is a untouched market and I believe my products are fun, will have longevity and will be well received.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I love social media and I knew it was the vehicle to help me gain traction and exposure. My line is fairly new, real new. I have a relatively large social media following but I needed something more to get their attention about my product. , I post post and post! I find that my videos of my products get a lot of views and hits. I love using real life models. By that I mean women and men that my target audience can relate to, in addition I am very conscious of the music I apply to the video to help tell the story. lastly set you profile to “professional setting” This allows you to view the actual stats of your post!
