We were lucky to catch up with Cheryl Microutsicos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cheryl, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
WoW! Graphic Designs came about when I started freelancing, way back in the late ’90s. I had my second son and wanted to be home with my children, so I joined some online groups (it was old school forums/bbs/message boards) and found my first client. I completed the first project and she faxed me back the approval (yes fax machine). it said WOW! but when the fax came in it’s upside down so now it says MOM! which i found very appropriate. So my third child, WoW! Graphic Designs, was born.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started my business after having my second child. I wanted to be present for my kids and build something that worked around our life—not a corporate 9-to-5. Having kids gave me a whole new perspective and led to my passion for helping other women who want to create meaningful businesses that support their families and their freedom.
In the beginning, I was helping people who had no idea how to create a professional look. This was before Canva—back when design software was expensive and not very user-friendly—so I stepped in to help with things like newsletters, ads, and logos. They needed graphics that made them look professional, and thanks to my background in Advertising and Graphic Design I was able to do that.
Eventually, those same clients started asking if I could build their websites. At the time, everything was hand-coded in HTML—no drag-and-drop tools—so I taught myself how to create clean, functional sites. A lot of my early projects were for equestrian businesses, which was a fun niche, and over time we have evolved into working with women entrepreneurs—especially moms—who needed websites and that professional digital presence.
They’re all smart and capable, but their time is limited—and that’s where I come in!
Today, with my team, I offer custom web design, graphic design, and blogging services. We help clients create and refresh their online presence with beautiful functional websites that reflect who they are and make it easier to grow their business—without burning out in the process.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Providing excellent service and being available for clients. I always have time to talk to them on the phone, and answer their questions, and pride myself on giving 100% for all the projects we work on. Clients stay with us a long time (some i still have from the very beginning!) and refer us to others because they know we will deliver.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We have a lot of VERY loyal clients. They don’t often have time to worry about their websites and how they work or why they aren’t working. They trust me to do this, and I’m very available for them. They like the fact they can actually call me on the phone or text me with issues or questions, or just to say, please take care of this. We become partners and friends with our clients, and this helps keep them loyal, and referring others to us because they know we will take care of them!
