We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cheryl Lipstreu. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cheryl below.

Cheryl, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?

Yes I have. It wasn’t easy in the beginning but with patience, persistence and the pursuit of making my dreams come true I’ve been able to establish myself as not only a working artist, but a successful entrepreneur and small business owner. I made my art career happen by simply not giving up. I always knew as a small child that I wanted to be an artist for a living and with the right determination I set my mind to doing exactly that. I believe if you can think it you can make it happen.
Some of the major steps and milestones for me was bodypainting and the bodypainting competitions. I excelled pretty quickly and naturally at these and they launched my career to new heights., One major breakthrough was being a competing artist in GSN’s hit series Skin Wars and the spin off Skin Wars Fresh Paint. Of course hindsight is 20/20 and yes I could have sped up my process with my current knowledge but for all the amazing blessings and learnings I’ve had along the way I wouldn’t change a thing. I am grateful for all my opportunities and how they have panned out for me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a Fine Art Painter, Creative Entrepreneur, Muralist, Illustrator, Award Winning International Bodypainting Champion, Sculptor, and Starring Artist of GSN’s Skin Wars Season 2 and Skin Wars Fresh Paint (Game Show Network) National Television / Netflix / Hulu / IMDb

Raised amongst the rolling hills of the piedmont plains with a large family of five brothers on an Arabian horse farm in Belews Creek NC, I fell in love with art and nature at an early age. This love gave way to years of dedicated study and a resolute commitment to make art for a living. Now my career has spanned over ten years of experience working as a freelance creative entrepreneur, a classical painter, a muralist, a celebrity champion bodypainting artist, a television starring artist, mentor, and judge, and now as a sculptor, all while beginning to dabble into the fields of architecture and engineering.

The lights of inspiration in people’s eyes as they experience my work is what moves me to constantly create art. To push myself in different mediums challenges me to continuously be learning and evolving as an artist. The result of this dedication is always aspiring to empower each recipient to have an uplifting positive interactive experience. Forever I am humbly grateful to embolden this opportunity through my talents.

The products and services I provide is to help people achieve their visions of Art and fulfill them.. I am most proud of being able to connect to my community in this way. It inspires me to continuously create and keeps me focused on making my customers happy with the art they receive. It is fulfilling on many different levels but most of all keeps me creating.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

The Secret. How to Think and Grow Rich. and the 48 Laws of Power.

These 3 books all basically share the same principals in which we are responsible for our thoughts and words and use them to create our own realities. Manifestation is Reality. The ability for every person to recognize their own personal power through the magnificence of their minds is an extraordinary one.

Reading these books and practicing the meditations and mantras of “Thoughts become things, choose the Good ones.” has gotten me very far in life. I live in the now with the full knowing that all my dreams will come true. It is a remarkable mindset to achieve.

Notes from the Universe too has helped me to guide my thoughts and take control of my manifestations to new levels.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?

NFT’s are literally so exciting! I hope to create some very soon and have purchased a Ledger and crypto wallet to try and join in on this modern new form of art. I believe our future is going digital more and more and it just makes sense to buy and sell art in this manner. So very exciting for what the future will bring with NFT’s.
