Today, we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Fowlkes . Cheryl was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Karen Benitez.
Cheryl , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I spent over 25 years in corporate America and was tired of working under someone else’s values and being pushed to not live under my own.. See I prefer to tell the truth, it’s too hard to keep up with things if you don’t. I enjoy helping people and love seeing beautiful properties so I went into real estate.. I spent many years in rural WA after getting married and enjoyed it so learning as much as I could about ranch properties was fun, that’s why I focus on homes and ranches. I have built my business primarily around referrals and repeat business over the last 19 + years.. love seeing the joy it brings to the families and helping people learn more about home and land ownership.. I worked for different brokerages for several years then started my own and ran it for several years before moving it under the eXp Realty brand. I’m not getting any younger and I wanted to protect my agents if something happened to me. I love their business model and enjoy mentoring agents and helping them grow.. For the last several years I have been working with a real estate coach and I am learning so much and growing personally and professionally from this, times are changing and so is the way we have to do real estate..
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I have been in the real estate industry for almost 20 years, I love helping buyers and seller of homes and ranch properties. I am changing the way real estate has been done in the past by doing educational videos, market updates and have co-authored 3 books that are real estate related: buyer, seller and Top Producer book.. The Top Producers book is already a #1 Best Seller on Amazon. Social media is a necessary avenue to help buyers, sellers and agents to learn from others and know more about transaction before they get into one.. This is one way to help the masses.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Karen Benitez and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Karen.
When I met Karen she was working under a salon where she was doing what was asked of her by the owners.. She had such great ethics in her work, her personality is great and has been come a close friend.. Then one day I went in and they said she was gone! Well I figured out a way to reach her and asked where she went as no one did as good of a job as she did.. She was so proud to tell me she started her own place.. I was a lot farther from me but I was completely ok with that as I wanted quality work which is what she delivered. She is also a great friend now as well! I refer all my friends and clients to her..
