We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cherish Ross. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cherish below.
Cherish , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
From my perspective there’s plenty that can contribute to one’s success, more than that there are multiple definitions of what it even means to say your successful. To list a few, I’d start with the necessity of having passion and perseverance: You must have a genuine love in your heart for your business idea and be willing to work hard to make it happen. There will be challenges and setbacks, but your perseverance will help you overcome them. Building a strong support system of mentors, advisors, and peers who can provide guidance, advice, and connections is another. But all in all, the skill and want to continuous learn, staying up to date with the latest trends within your industry, you have to be up for understanding how to improve your skills. At the end of the day success takes time, effort, and it’s on you to keep pushing forward and believe in yourself and your business.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Cherish Ross I am the current owner of two thriving businesses. both of which fulfill my passion in life on the business side as well as my creative mind, the first being Dzinr Kicks a brand that started out as me just doing dope things in the sneaker reseller world always having the latest sneaker drop in the exact size people needed them in so came the website, having a spill over in inventory and loads of kicks on hand. Then it turned into something much bigger than being a shoe plug- I let it tend to my fashion world desires of styling, so I began providing the latest trends in clothing as well… now I’ve been told, and I’d like to think so myself, that I dress really well and have a crazy cool sense of style It blew up and this is what I’m most proud to say came from the passion, now I’m styling everyone who comes across me and my work, providing pieces and entire outfits that at the end of the day make people feel good about how they’re rocking it. Doing what I love just being creative.
Ross Building Consultants is my Property Management company I started at the age 20. During covid I started doing air bnb and as the world began to open back up for travel, plenty cities governed the platform in many different ways, requiring you to have LLCs, real entities, more than just being an individual so then came RBC. When I was younger my mom used to take us to look at model homes all the time manifesting one day we would live as such and overtime the interest in just having homes in a plural sense grew. I started with one apartment then a house and I didn’t want to stop because even though I’m thriving in attempt to create passive income using these vacation rentals I looked at where else in my life this specific project would benefit me and again it ties into my creativity and the ownership that comes with it.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
A short story an old mentor introduced to me called “Who Moved My Cheese” literally was a about book 90 pages or so. The idea of the story was all about mentality and how to move forward in this rat race we call life. Cheese metaphorically was money and opportunity, the moving of the cheese was the obstacles that you face in life. As you read along it tries to get the reader to see that sometimes you have to move with the cheese but moving is not always physical other times it’s your mindset and having to change the way you see things in order to get that money or fulfill those opportunities.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I started with no money and no help just a dream and the will to do whatever was necessary to make it happen I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’ve put in the work to get there and I’m going to continue to do so.
