We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cherica (TopShelfYoni) J. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cherica (TopShelfYoni), looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
BarBaddiesTV™️ — The Most Meaningful Project I’ve Worked On
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is BarBaddiesTV™️, a social reality series I created to highlight and humanize women working in nightlife — bartenders, bottle girls, servers, and hookah hosts — whose stories often go untold. The concept was born from my own experience working behind the bar and realizing that so many women in this space are more than their looks or roles; they’re entrepreneurs, mothers, students, and dreamers balancing hustle with heart.
Through BarBaddiesTV™️, I’ve built a platform that celebrates authenticity, ambition, and feminine power in an industry that’s often misunderstood. The project means so much to me because it merges storytelling, empowerment, and real community — it gives women like us visibility and voice. Seeing participants gain confidence, exposure, and opportunities beyond nightlife has been the most rewarding part.
BarBaddiesTV™️ isn’t just a show; it’s a movement to shift perspectives and spotlight the beauty, resilience, and brilliance of women who shine under neon lights — and beyond them.

Cherica (TopShelfYoni), before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
About BarBaddiesTV™️: The Real Tea on Our Mission
For too long, the narrative around women in the nightlife industry—bartenders, bottle girls, servers, and hookah hotties—has been written by everyone but us. They see the sparkle, the hustle, the beauty, but they miss the Power. That’s the problem BarBaddiesTV™️ was born to solve.
Our Origin and Inspiration
I saw a massive gap. These women are the engine of Atlanta’s nightlife economy, commanding respect, securing bags, and running businesses, yet they’re constantly stereotyped. My inspiration was simple: to flip the script. I wanted to create a platform where the hustle is respected, the beauty is a superpower, and the drama is authentic, driven by goals, not just catfights.
Our Focus and Mission: Beauty Meets Hustle
BarBaddiesTV™️ isn’t just a social media series; it’s a movement.
What sets us apart: We focus on the strategic side of the hustle. We showcase women who use the bar as a launchpad for modeling, fashion, real estate, and entrepreneurship. We pull back the velvet rope to show the real business meetings, the sisterhood, the betrayals, and the million-dollar mindsets behind the scenes.
The Products/Creative Works We Provide: We deliver raw, high-quality, unscripted reality content across social platforms and our website, plus exclusive access to major ATL events, celebrity appearances, and our expanding merchandise line.
The Problems We Solve: We provide exposure and validation for talented women who are often overlooked by mainstream media. We give them an owner-operated platform to control their image, giving our audience a taste of the real luxury, ambition, and drama of Atlanta nightlife.
What We Are Most Proud Of
We are most proud of the unfiltered truth we capture. In a world full of fake reality, we put the camera on women with genuine history and high stakes. We are building a franchise that redefines what a “Baddie” is: a successful, smart, and driven woman who owns her destiny.
What Fans Need to Know
The tea you need to take away: Every woman on BarBaddiesTV™️ has a story that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about nightlife. We don’t just pour drinks; we are pouring foundations for empires.
We are unapologetic.
We are in control.
We are the future of unscripted content.
Get ready, because the full BarBaddiesTV™️ experience is coming, and it’s going to be iconic.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The mission is to change the narrative from the inside out.
The tea is, for years, TV has shown “reality” about women in nightlife that’s been watered down, manufactured, and written by people who don’t live it. They show the drama, but they ignore the hustle behind it. They see the beauty, but they can’t handle the power that comes with it.
My creative journey is driven by one thing: correcting that story. Our goal is to expose the real business behind the bottles, the strategic moves behind the smiles, and the empire-building conversations that happen after last call. Every episode, every post, every event is a step toward making sure these women are seen as the innovators and business moguls they truly are. We aren’t just creating TV; we’re creating a legacy.

Society needs to invest in ownership, not just observation.
The biggest tea I can spill on this is that true support doesn’t come from likes and comments—it comes from direct investment and removing the old gatekeepers. The traditional creative ecosystem is a setup designed to exploit artists and sell them back their own story.
To really support creatives, society needs to:
Stop rewarding manufactured drama. Invest your attention and your dollars into creators who own their work and are telling their own unfiltered stories.
Support direct-to-consumer platforms. Artists need to be able to build their brand and their business without a middleman taking a cut or controlling the narrative. That’s why we started BarBaddiesTV™️ on our own, with our own website and our own rules.
Celebrate the creator, not just the content. A thriving ecosystem is built on respect for the person behind the art, acknowledging their business savvy, and valuing their vision as much as their talent.
Simply put, if you want to support a creative ecosystem, don’t just watch—pay for and empower the people who are building it.
