Allow me to introduce myself, I am Chen Alyesh, the creative force behind C Design by Chen. My passion lies in creating art that revolves around self-growth and draws inspiration from the beauty of nature.

Throughout life’s journey, I’ve come to realize that it’s all about discovering oneself, identifying what we truly love, and channeling our energy into it. For as long as I can remember, art has been an integral part of my life, weaving through every chapter. From my early days of fashion design, where I crafted clothing designs using CADS, to venturing into my first crafting business, it seems like each step has led me to where I am today—a creative career that allows me to pour all my loves into crafting art as a surface designer.

Being a surface designer means creating art that finds its way into various products. Whether it’s adorning cups, breathing life into notebooks, adding a touch of beauty to textiles, or turning walls into captivating art pieces, I find immense joy in witnessing how my art takes on new life and meaning depending on the items it graces.

This journey of self-discovery and artistic expression has been a remarkable one, and it fills me with gratitude to be able to share my creations with the world. With each piece I craft, I hope to inspire others on their paths of self-growth and appreciation for the wonders of nature. I firmly believe that art has the power to connect, uplift, and enrich lives, and I am excited to continue this creative journey with a heart full of passion and purpose.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Coming from the fashion industry, I absolutely loved it all. But when I became a mother, things changed, and I had to make a tough choice. It was either hustling as a working mom, spending hours commuting to the office, and relying on a nanny, or staying home and figuring out my next move. I decided to be a stay-at-home mom, but it wasn’t an easy decision. It took a lot of soul-searching to figure out my goals and dreams. I wasn’t ready to give up on my passions just like that.

It was like destiny led me to surface designing, and it swept me off my feet from the moment I discovered it. I couldn’t help but fall head over heels for this craft, and I knew deep down that this was my calling.

I’ve been dedicated to learning everything I can about surface designing, and the journey of acquiring knowledge continues as I pursue my dream in this field.

Interestingly in the surface design journey i discovered the joy in teaching art workshops. . it all began when my friends asked me to lead art workshops and organize unique paint nights. Little did I know that this experience would captivate me completely. There’s an electrifying rush that comes with sharing my creativity and expertise with others. Witnessing the spark in their eyes as they uncover their artistic talents is an experience that’s simply priceless.

I’ve been actively involved in conducting workshops for both kids and adults, and let me tell you, each session is pure magic. With kids, it’s all about nurturing their young imaginations and watching them soar to new creative heights. Working with adults, on the other hand, is a revelation in itself. I’m amazed by how art can become a powerful channel for self-expression and stress relief. It’s an absolute privilege to guide them on their unique creative journeys.

Teaching and witnessing the impact of art on people’s lives has become much more than just a passion for me. It’s a soul-enriching experience that fills my heart with joy and fulfillment every single day. I consider myself fortunate to inspire and be inspired by my students, and I can’t wait to see where this beautiful creative journey takes all of us.

I want to encourage everyone to do some self-reflection and pursue what they truly love. It’s not always a smooth ride, but the satisfaction you get when things start falling into place is beyond words. As I keep moving forward, I’m grateful for every step that brings me closer to my dreams. Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Looking back, one crucial lesson I wish I had known earlier is that being an artist doesn’t demand perfection. There are countless ways to express creativity, but as a society, we often confine ourselves to thinking inside the box.

As a creative soul, I’ve learned the real magic happens when you step outside that box and embrace your unique approach to art. This shift in perspective opened my eyes to a whole new world of diverse art forms and allowed me to accept myself as an artist, just the way I am.
