We recently connected with Chelsie Paine and have shared our conversation below.
Chelsie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
My first client was a personal referral through a mutual friend, and it just took off from there.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I moved back home to Texas after my California stint. However, once I moved back to Dallas, I quickly noticed there was no or very little female representation in the market. I decided to give it a go, and Pinky’s was launched in August 2009. The goal was to provide an excellent service from women, proving that it was not a business just for men. We want to employ the right people not based on their gender and proudly employee both women and men. I take a lot of pride in who we partner with and am very thankful for our relationships over the years. I am so proud of the culture we have created and how each member of our diverse team represents Pinky’s in the way I envisioned it years ago when it was just a thought in the back of my head.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Letting accidents or negative opinions get to me, making me feel defeated and stressed out. I’ve learned that I cannot make everyone happy, but if I operate with integrity and do the right thing, I can sleep well at night. Being a busy business owner can be stressful and costume a lot of lifes moments. I’ve learned to make time for business and separate time for my personal life.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Starting your own business is hard, and there is so much unknown and sacrifices in the beginning. The first two years came with many obstacles that made me question the launch time, amongst other things. I accepted a full-time job, and within three months, we landed our first big event. From that event, everything just took off. Looking back, I am so glad I kept pushing even in those moments of doubt. I have learned to allow the challenging moments to turn into valuable lessons. I grew from each of them and made a conscious choice to continue paving the path for so many more amazing people who would eventually join our team in the future.
