We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chelsie Bammer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chelsie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I absolutely love being a business owner. Being a business owner is the most rewarding thing I have done in my life (besides raising children). I find it surprising that I regularly feel creative as a business owner and that is one aspect of my life I never want to lose. I find the possibilities are endless. When doing what you love and owning it, the energy behind it is powerful. The endless tasks that can be done in the business feel overwhelming. There is never enough time to get it all done. Slow times are hard as well. The pressure is on. There can be days when I wonder what it would be like to work a regular job, have PTO, benefits, and leave everything at work at the end of the day, but I am not built for that. I am built to create. I am excited to serve my clients every day and always eager for what is next! I feel like the impact I can make is on a personal level.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Chelsie Bammer, the business owner of Everyday Details + Design, LLC. I offer professional organizing services to the KC area with the focus on transforming a space and the feelings around it. The goal is to create functional and clean spaces to support a person’s well-being. I excel at working with the overwhelmed, families, children, and business professionals to get their lives organized and clutter free. I enjoy helping clients get closer to their goals of less stress so they can enjoy more. I offer in-person organizing sessions that are customized to the home and lifestyle, whether they are a busy family, downsizing, or moving. With these hands-on services we dig in to the INTENTION of how you WANT to be living with your stuff.
I have been organizing things around me my whole life. Even as a young child I felt most energized when I was organizing and tidying my room. I meditate on how the things look around me, how they feel and make me feel, and how all of it flows together. Caring for the home (and other’s homes in my case from the business side) really comes from the heart. Our homes are scared and special. How we order the spaces within them really hold a place for how we order ourselves and the kind of life we live. I believe a space should feel inspiring, comforting, peaceful, and healing. I am so pleased when I get to leave a client’s home and/or space feeling that way. I turn the details of the everyday into luxuries that comfort or delights the senses. When we give more to ourselves, we can ask more of ourselves.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I owe this all to my friends and clients who have spread the word. I am so beyond grateful to them. My business would not be what it is today without their referrals and kind words about my services.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I would not say there is one particular goal or mission driving me, because there are several. I just want to be more creative every day. I get to choose where I take this business and the different avenues are countless. I watch and learn from other creatives/entrepreneurs on a daily basis and am constantly inspired. I’m always thinking about how their stories could apply to what I am doing. The impact I want to make on the daily lives of people and those sacred spaces we call home is a huge drive for me. People might not realize how much of an impact having an orderly life and home will have. It is at the center of everything they do. My goal is to clear the path to achieve order and balance in busy lives.
