We were lucky to catch up with Chelsea Porter recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chelsea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful it takes strength, confidence, faith, and a good support system. You always hear people say being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart and it’s not, so you need strength because some days are better than others. You can be completely booked one week and then only a handful of bookings the next. Next, you have to be confident within your skill set because if you don’t believe in yourself then why do you expect others to believe in you? Along with strength and confidence you have to have faith and believe everything will work out just as it should. Last but not least you need a good support system. You need people to push you even when you can’t push yourself. You need people to pour into you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a licensed esthetician/instructor as well as a professional makeup artist. My passion and goal in life is to not only help people define their definition of beauty through my products and services, but to educate as well on how to get and properly maintain healthy skin. When you look good, you feel good. Early on in life I learned I enjoyed taking care of my skin as well as the business aspect of it. Being a beautypreneur started off as way to make extra income, but the ultimate goal is to pursue my passion full time as well as travel with it.
For services I offer different kinds of facials, full body waxing, cluster lashes, and makeup. As for products I offer a wide range from cosmetics and skin care to branded merchandise.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Me personally I keep in touch by email and text messages. It makes it a little more personable. To foster brand loyalty at Forever Uzuri we have a point system. For each booked appointment or for every $1 spent on products you get a point and once you get to 100 points you can choose for a percentage off product or a service.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market is transparency. During services, consultations, or even just inquires I’m completely honest. I’m going to give you realistic expectations and give you the good, bad, and ugly so that you can make a well informed decision.
