We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chelsea Lopez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Our main focus is on creating packages that can fit any budget so we can really help our couples.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is Chelsea Lopez. I am the owner of Tipsy Tampa. We are a mobile bartending/ event planning business. I first started this business about 4 years ago. I was bartending in Tampa and my regulars were getting married and asked me to bartend for their special day. Once I did, I kept getting recommendations and there was really no turning back! I am so proud that we made it through Covid. We had to get very creative but did it as a team. I’m so thankful for how much my company has grown in just 4 years.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

So I kind of touched on this before. Covid was rough. We were just about to enter wedding season in March of 2020 and Covid hit. People were scared. They were cancelling left and right. I really didn’t know if my business was going to make it. We got together as a team and tried our hardest to prevail. Well.. it did and then we had one of our best years in 2021 after such a rough year.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I started my business from nothing. I remember buying my first cooler at a yard sale and then just finding things around that I could use. I had to save up from my bartending shifts to purchase my license and insurance!
