We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chelsea Krafchak. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chelsea below.
Alright, Chelsea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My mom and I have been starting businesses together my entire adult life. We were always so ready and willing to dive deep into whatever project we were facing. We tried our hands at lots of things; medical marijuana, blogs, ebay, children’s clothing, and more but nothing ever really lit that fire inside of us. We knew we wanted to be business owners but we just weren’t sure how that would look for us. Recently, we tried to start a digital business focusing on behavioral health for children. In that business, we would teach parents how to deal with their child’s behavioral issues. However, once we started diving into this it became apparent that the real family member that needed support wasn’t the child, it was the mother. So, Everyday Wellness for Moms was born! My mother (and business partner) has been a family therapist for over 30 years. In her experience, moms are lacking the mental health support they need. As a mother of four myself, I couldn’t agree more. I see it in my friends, family members, and even in the mirror. I was so tired of watching the women around me suffer in silence and there was nothing I could do to help them. Traditional therapy is great but often underutilized by moms. This could be because of cost, time, childcare, etc. In my business, we provide affordable therapy tools for moms who are not in crisis to use at home. They can work through our digital workbooks at their own pace and start practicing right away. We also do our best to provide support on our blog and on social media. We want mothers to feel less alone. We want them to know help is out there. Everyday Wellness for Moms is a passion project for us and we cannot wait to watch it grow.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are so thrilled to be multigenerational women working together. Building this business as mother and daughter gives us so much more to offer our clients. My mother being a clinician and me living my day to day surrounded by women in the throws of motherhood, makes our experience first hand. We are both so passionate about helping women, it is a natural fit. We currently have 2 digital workbooks for sale on our website. The first is called, “A Mom’s Guide to Wellness,” and it’s for mothers who are looking to grow, gain interpersonal strength, and build healthy self care. Our second workbook is called, “A Mom’s Guide to Building Connection.” This is all about building a strong and healthy support system. We highlight how healthy connections can change your life and then dive into how to go about meeting people and forming bonds that will last. Both products are digital downloads and both workbooks are only $14. It was really important for us to be at a low price point so our products can be available for as many mothers as possible. We want moms out there to know that taking care of their mental health is so important. This world, our families, our friends, our jobs, they take and take and take from us. We, as women, give and give and give and eventually there is nothing left. It is up to you to take care of yourself. No one is going to do it for you. Find moments of self care and begin a wellness routine. Any one of us is capable of crumbling under this surmounting pressure. Show yourself love and give yourself grace in the form of self care.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
It’s important for us to foster our community and keep in touch with our audience. Given that we are still very much in the “growing” phase of our business, the way we do this is constantly evolving. Right now, we are writing personal weekly emails to keep in touch with our readers. We share about our personal lives, the highs and lows of motherhood, updates within the business, and more. I really pour so much of myself into these emails. It’s important for me to be authentic and and honest and to use that as a way to connect. Additionally, we craft and share two blog posts each week. We are so lucky to already have a small team working with us in our business. Katie, our editor, writes most of our blog posts and she is so great at sharing in a way that is truly genuine. She is able to come from a place of motherhood that is slightly different from mine and my mothers so it really is a perfect fit. We are lucky to have her on our team. We are very active on Instagram and we adore our social media manager (and friend) who helps us navigate the ever changing world of social media. We work very closely with her to have our Instagram feed be a true reflection of us. . We share reminders for moms to take care of themselves, self love tips, positivity reminders, a weekly wellness series with tips to navigate all things motherhood, straight from a therapist and quite literally so much more. We meet with our social media manager in person monthly and talk regularly about what’s happening in our real world and how that fits in with our social media presence. Her name is Katie too and we absolutely are so lucky to have her working with us.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Growing a business takes time and patience. I feel like we have made so many mistakes and have had so many setbacks yet we keep going. We have had to start over, rebuild our website, redo projects, and I can’t tell you how many times I have crashed our website because I forget that I am not a web designer. Our message is so important and we are holding information that can truly help moms live a better life so we cannot stop now. Our growth has been slow and steady and that’s okay. Making meaningful connections has always been the most important thing in our business.
