We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chelsea Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chelsea below.
Chelsea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Naming my brand honestly should have not taken as long as it did! My personal handle is extremely similar to my brand, The Social Snob. I have had the same handle for years and people would literally see me in public and say “Hey, you’re the snob on Instagram, right?” or just flat out call me “The Snob”.
When I started my social media management business I was thinking of all these clever names – trying to to include my first name or something witty – but really the perfect name was right in front of me: The Social Snob!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Personally, I am a foodie, mom of two, a lover of all things beauty, and a proud Cleveland native. Professionally, I am a social media manager and founder of The Social Snob. My brand is dedicated to creating creative, unique, and impactful social media experiences for businesses looking to make a memorable impression online. My journey into social media management actually was not my initial business idea. During Covid I really wanted to start my own business making skin care products, but decided against it since my 9 to 5 job was the security I felt was needed as a new mom. After having my second child I felt the biggest urge to start my own business again and found myself drawn to the creative process of social media where I was posting a lot of content on my personal page. Over time, I realized the importance of a strong social media strategy and wanted to use my creativity and love for social media to help brands elevate their online presence. I then took a social media management bootcamp and continued to pursue my efforts in helping other businesses online.
At The Social Snob, I offer a range of services, including content creation, social media strategy, and community engagement. If a business does not want the commitment of a social media manager, I do also offer a one time audit that will provide in depth information on how the business can improve online. My work focuses on helping clients build a brand identity that not only stands out, but stands true to their brand while connecting to their target audiences effectively. One of the things I believe sets The Social Snob apart is my commitment to crafting content and strategies that are unique to each client. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
I’m am proud of the impact my work has had on helping brands not only grow, but also deepen their connections with their audiences. If there is one thing I want potential clients to know, it’s that The Social Snob is here to bring authenticity, creativity, and a fresh perspective to your social media presence!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As previously mentioned, I did not pursue my first business idea during Covid, rather I did after having my second child. I was postpartum, struggling with the thought of leaving my two kids with a daycare provider, especially with my partner overseas for none months out of each year. So, I decided to split my maternity leave. I took 6 weeks right after my daughter’s birth and took the second 6 weeks a few months later. The second 6 weeks entailed me traveling to Europe to see my partner and I took a six-week social media bootcamp. After completing it, I did an audit for a realtor and within a month I landed my first client. Balance family and starting a business required resilience, but it’s a decision I’m proud of every day.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mail goal as a social media manager is to help other small, local businesses flourish and elevate their online presence through creative, engaging content. I love seeing my clients grow as their brands connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. At the same time, I am also driven by a vision to grown my own brand, with hopes of branching into the beauty industry down the line. Every project I take on fuels my passion for creativity and deepens my commitment to helps others succeed online while also building a foundation for my own future.
