Chelsea , appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

“Embarking on my makeup journey was a transformative experience that fused passion with purpose. As I navigated the intricate world of cosmetics, I found my unique style to enhance natural Beauty a marriage of creativity and elegance. When the time came to christen my makeup business, I sought a name that Couture “ In the realm of makeup typically refers to high-end, customized. Couture makeup may include intricate detailing, artistic and personalized color schemes to achieve a truly one-of-a-kind and luxurious appearance. I wanted to include my name in my name somehow but my married initials didn’t quite go with the title. So a cousin of mine DeAnna who is also very talented stated, that I should use my initials with my Maiden name CAT! CATS are independent , mysterious and elegant all in which describe me! ‘CAT’ embodies a commitment to delivering creative, artistic, and transformative makeup experiences tailored to each individual.” I truly love my name and I pray one day you guys will see it everywhere you go and remember this story!

“Hello, beautiful souls! I’m Chelsea Jones the creative force behind Couture by Cat. My journey into the enchanting world of makeup began as a little girl watching my Mommy in the mirror apply her lipstick and how so well groomed she was. I come from a line of Confident Beautiful women and to see how she would blend colors together to make the perfect ombré lip I was intrigued! It’s my pursuit of self-expression and artistry. What started as playing in Mommy’s makeup when she was away as a personal exploration evolved into a thriving business, where I channel my creativity to enhance the natural beauty of each individual.

At Couture by Cat, I specialize in makeup experiences that go beyond the ordinary. My services encompass personalized consultations, meticulously crafted looks, and an unwavering commitment to making you feel confident and empowered. We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

When I first entered the industry I had a client not to please with her makeup she was my second client that I had ever done makeup on. When she left , I went into my studio room and cried I felt defeated as if maybe this is not for me! But then I remembered, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! “In the evolution of my makeup journey, a crucial lesson emerged – the realization that not every client is destined for my artistry, and that’s perfectly okay. Through this process of unlearning, I discovered the beauty in authenticity and alignment. At CouturebyCAT, I embrace the understanding that the clients who resonate with my vision and aesthetic are the ones destined to embark on this transformative beauty journey with me. Quality over quantity, connection over conformity – because those meant for us will remain, creating a harmonious and authentic beauty experience.”

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

To bounce off of what I mentioned earlier, during that time of feeling defeated I used it as an opportunity to improve and grow. I begin to practice more and more I even reached out to other MUA’s such as(Crystal Vonshaè) and others MUA’s who had been in the industry longer than me! All of my hard work and dedication has begun to pay off and I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me next.
