We recently connected with Chelsea Gardner and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Tenacity and complete trust in yourself and your abilities. I am sure that you have heard about the dreaded imposter syndrome that can steadily creep into your life and your thoughts as you journey through becoming an entrepreneur, accepting a new job role, promoting into a senior role, and the list goes on.
I have been in my industry for a decade and I keep up with what’s changing and evolving in the digital world, but there are days that it gets the best of me, like it does everyone else. But, to be successful, you truly have to put that aside and KNOW that you are an expert in your field – you were put into that new role for a reason, or given that promotion for a reason. We are our own worst critics and we truly have to have faith and trust in ourselves each and every day.
I say tenacity is the key to being successful because it truly means “being very determined or to grip something firmly.” When you have tenacity, you can be determined that you trust yourself and your abilities. You can be determined to be successful (whatever success looks like to you), and you can be determined to always make lemonade from lemons.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been in marketing for over 10 years. When I was in college, my family and I opened a full-line retail pet store in Greenville, North Carolina, that I fully managed and ran. I fell in love with the marketing aspect of the business and decided to get my degree in marketing from East Carolina University. Upon selling the store and moving to Tampa, I continued my marketing career in healthcare and obtained my Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Working for corporate America in marketing taught me a lot and I am proud of all of the accomplishments from my time in the healthcare sector. Having been a sole marketer for an 8 practice urgent care, an 8 practice dental clinic, and a 15 practice dermatology clinic, I decided it was time for me to truly go on my own and help individual clients.
I have enjoyed every aspect of being able to help business owners, loan officers and realtors with their digital presence and online marketing. I take a lot of pride in doing what I do and I look forward to work everyday!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I am not an online influencer by any means and I truly struggle to keep the consistency with my own social media as I manage so many others. My clients always come first!
My biggest piece of advice is to be consistent and show up on social media. Consistency looks different for everyone and you really need to learn what that looks like for you. Whether it is 3 posts a week and a story every day, or a reel a day. Be consistent and show up! I also recommend engaging with your ideal followers/clients!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I definitely believe my background in marketing, the work I’ve done and who I have worked for has tremendously blessed me with my reputation in the marketplace.
