We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chelle Thompson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chelle, appreciate you joining us today. How has Covid changed your business model?
Absolutely! I’d say it has been challenging as well as a blessing. The challenging aspect of covid changing business for me is that most have been furloughed or hours being cut which obviously means that business suffers. My repeat clients took a step back on booking due to the importance of how they needed to spend their money versus how they wanted to. In the past year, business has picked up but definitely not what it used to be. There has been a fear of gathering with friends and family for health reasons and that is completely understandable. The blessing eventually came about when potential clients felt they were in need of some type of social life so therefore booking for smaller gatherings to play it safe. At that moment is when business begin to pick up more and is continuing to progress.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My company name is Lavish Pours Mobile Bartending and I’ve been in business since 2018 and loving every minute. With this industry being extremely saturated, I’ve been able to add creativity, unbeatable rates, knowledge and exceptional service that my clients can’t deny. I started bartending as a bucket list adventure but it quickly became a fun passion. I soon knew that I could take bartending further than I could imagine. It took lots of sleepless nights and missed events to research and build a business that I could be proud of and know that I would be able to do that I love and gain a new prospective of this industry. Most would think that there’s only pouring drinks into a glass involved in bartending but there’s so much more behind the scenes. I love that I can interact with people and learn so much by simply creating an unforgettable cocktail so that they can relax, enjoy and just simply live in the moment.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
In my experience, the most effective strategy for growth is simple. Professionalism, fairness, compassion and being attentive to clients needs.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for new clients is word of mouth! Its the best type of marketing in my opinion. Once you’ve established a relationship with a new client and they trust that you will provide amazing and honest service, they will become repeat clients and will begin to tell others about their experience with your company and thats how you gain other new clients. The cycle repeats itself over and over again!
