We were lucky to catch up with Chelah Lee recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chelah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My career as a nurse has been driven by my desire to heal and help people feel better. On my journey towards entrepreneurship I wanted to continue to do the same however leave bedside nursing. Paramedical tattooing doesn’t require a nursing degree and it doesn’t heal people however it does help people feel better by concealing major insecurities with their vanity.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Board Certifed Cardiac Registered Nurse with 8+ years experience. What many don’t know is my nursing degree is actually my third degree. I also have a Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration and a Masters degree in Healthcare Management.
Ataraxy Aesthetics is a medical spa offering services that permanently conceals its clients insecurities with makeup-like results through specialized tattoo procedures. We pride our self on our professionalism and individualized care. All services are provided by a licensed Registered Nurse and aren’t the typical cosmetic tattooing procedures which is what sets us apart from others. We offer stretch mark camouflaging catering to all genders concealing common areas of concern (stomach, shoulder/arm area, hips/buttock, breasts and more). We also offer scar camouflaging catering to all genders concealing common areas of concern such as ( vitiligo, c-section, surgical, tummy tuck, BBL and accident scars). Another service we offer is dark lip neutralization catering to all genders, this service lightens dark lips caused from smoking or mere genetics. This service can also correct asymmetry and camouflage lip scars. We offer your traditional cosmetic tattoo procedure ombrè/powder brows as well.
I am most proud of challenging myself to pursue entrepreneurship and believing in myself so much that I have stayed consistently focused on the goal knowing that I will have a successful business. I would want my followers, and fans to know that growing and running a business is not easy. Determination, consistency, continued education, and passion are essential. If you truly believe in it and have a passion for it, you will succeed. It can be lonely and it may take years but stick to it if you truly believe in yourself and want it.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I left my job as a Clinical Nurse Supervisor during the Covid pandemic to pursue travel nursing which doubled my income. I used this income to pay for my certifications and products. I worked out of my home to build clientele and experience and establish content. Once I became more confident in my skill and established more clients I used my income from Ataraxy Aesthetics and travel nursing to renovate and open my new spa location. I glad to say I took out no loans and have no business debt.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Social media. Mostly all of my clients have come Instagram marketing and Tik Tok.
