Alright, Chef thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Honestly, I don’t think there is any specific blueprint for success. Each person has different skill sets they have to work towards that will ultimately reach a desirable level of success for themselves. Being an entrepreneur, you must have a solid business plan and be eager to learn, and understand failure constantly is behind every lesson. Anyone can tell you to follow your passion, but once you know the purpose behind your passion, you will go through the process of executing your ultimate goal.

I am a self-taught Chef and have always had a passion for cooking. I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 16 years and decided to start my business in June 2020. I am the Owner of EZ Pours and Plates and offer Private Chef, Catering, and Bartending Services. I provide diverse menus at reasonable pricing that will cater to client needs. When a client inquires about my services, I know they’re looking to save time and effort, and if I’m able to accommodate a menu for a lot of different palates, that alone is solving a significant problem that others may think is minuscule. Three strong qualities that separate me from others would be my passion, adaptability, and tenacity no matter the difficulties encountered. I aim to be known worldwide and make my clients’ events more memorable. My innovations speak in a way that clients will realize the outstanding service and various menus I provide are like no other. I am most proud of the challenges I’ve overcome while running a business during a pandemic.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Many people choose not to pursue their passion due to a lack of faith and support, and not knowing the why behind starting a new journey can be discouraging. I was working for a lucrative company and taking care of my family. I had doubts about quitting my job due to security. We all have two choices in life, and I decided to leave my full-time job not knowing the outcome. I’ve had a few setbacks. Still, I did not allow the pandemic, difficulties, or uncertainty resulting from my decision to stop me from pursuing my passion. I adapted to the changes, and two years later, my business is further than when I first started. I encourage anyone to pursue their passion, step out of their comfort zone, and be resilient even if it scares them. If it doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes. I started by selling plates as a side hustle to generate extra cash due to the pandemic. I always knew cooking was my passion, but once I realized why I wanted to turn my side hustle into a full-time business, I put my all into my business, and one event turned into more events. Some of my achievements are executing my first catering event and exceeding my clients’ needs and expectations, and perfecting many dishes I thought would be challenging to accomplish. Vast or minuscule my accomplishments is a significant milestones for me.
