Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chayil Chanda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chayil, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
I’ve always been fascinated by words. I love language and how depending on what part of the world one is from, the words said in certain orders can mean very different things.
Growing up on the east-side of Detroit, I was blessed to be able to attend the high school I attended. My going there automatically classified me as Bourgeois to my neighborhood peers.
As a kid, I thought it a compliment. I thought Bourgeois was a word that meant I was above the status quo. As an adult, who became inundated with French, I learned quickly that Bourgeois actually means middle class.
Not a bad thing but it isn’t a term that I wanted to describe me. Middle class is fine for some but my self esteem is a bit higher than that. I am haute couture lol.
My first book came from my research of the word Bourgeois and how it’s used in society -vs- how it’s interpreted.
Moving from idea to execution comes when you find something you’re passionate about and you refuse to stop until it’s completed. Ideas are great. Execution is a choice. Choose to produce.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am ChayilChanda.
Of the many titles I wear, I am most proud to just be a woman.
I am unique in that for years I lived with low self-esteem. It took me shaving my head as a result of alopecia to really find my beauty and confidence. Now that I have it, I’ll never give it away and I want to inspire others find their confidence especially if they look differently than how the world classifies beauty.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

While I knew about it, I didn’t take full advantage of how much relevant information is out there. Once you find an influencer or educator you trust, the possibilities are limitless of what you can learn and how much you can grow.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Currently I’m scaling my 9-5 income to fund my creative endeavors.
My ultimate goal is full time creative entrepreneurship.
I keep going because I can see what freedom looks like for me and I’m going to have it.
