We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chayanika Baishya . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chayanika below.
Chayanika , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I am in love with acting. I have been trained professionally in an acting school by highly skilled Hollywood Industry professionals and I am fortunate to gain this experience however I believe real experiences on set, observing people around everywhere, listening to them and living lives of different people in one soul. These experiences excites me. To speed up my learning experience I would love to grow more as who I am and explore my potential to the best. I would never stop learning. My mind is extremely curious hence I am always studying and researching be it my craft or anything else that excites me. Financial circumstances would an obstacle for now, as I have started to work in the industry, still fresh and trying my best to make it. Though I believe it would be stronger and good with time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Chayanika Baishya professionally known as ‘Synicah’ I am an actress, singer, songwriter, composer & rapper. I was born and raised in Assam, India. I debuted with my single ‘Scars’ (2018). In 2019 I performed for the title track of Assamese Film ‘Ratnakar’ which was one of the biggest releases of Northeast India. I later continued to perform in several singles ‘Warrior’ (2021) & ‘IDC’ (2023). Later in 2023 I moved to Los Angeles, California in order to pursue my acting & music career and graduated in Acting for Film from New York Film Academy, Los Angeles. I am working on several upcoming projects including films and my new albums.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Being too nice to someone could be too dangerous. In this world we love staying in a positive environment and around good energy. We tend to be nice and kind to people, that’s a natural instinct. However I got to learn from some experiences that not everyone understands our pure intentions, some people did try to use my kindness and behaved terribly. They had ill intentions towards me and I thankfully trusted my intuition of not feeling well around them and I got myself out of the situation in perfect time and I made it home safe. I would also like to share, the word “No” is extremely powerful, if we ever feel unsafe in any situation we must have no hesitation saying No and walk away, it not just protects you but also explains your worth and value.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes! I believe in whatever I do, I do it in full 100% effort. That’s one of my biggest goal. It inspires me to do better in everything not just in my creative field but also in my day to day life.
