Chauntell, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The birth of Elevated Training Solutions began during my last year of teaching abroad in 2018, marking my 15th year in the classroom. While uncertain if it would be my final year, I was already contemplating my return home. In 2017, I came across an article highlighting the standardized test scores of 3rd graders in South Carolina. Witnessing the need for improved literacy skills, I felt compelled to return and make a difference in students’ lives, though unsure of the exact role I would take on, as I needed a break from traditional education.
The turning point came when a friend posed a question on social media: “If you could earn any amount of money in a month, what would it be?” Without hesitation, I replied, “10K a month.” When asked about my plans, I admitted teaching is my forte, but I remained open to new opportunities. It was then suggested I consider consulting, yet tutoring resonated more strongly, particularly online—a format I had already been exploring.
Initially met with skepticism, my focus on online tutoring proved prescient, especially when the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the shift to virtual learning in 2020. This shift validated my efforts and served as the catalyst for the expansion of Elevated Training Solutions (ETS).
Since the beginning, ETS has been dedicated to bridging educational gaps and empowering students in South Carolina and beyond. Our commitment to personalized tutoring and holistic support—incorporating parent resources and early learners toolkits—has resonated with families seeking effective educational solutions.
Today, ETS stands as a testament to our mission: to enhance literacy and numeracy skills, foster confidence in young learners, and prepare them for academic success. Our journey is fueled by a passion for education and a belief in its transformative power.

The journey of establishing Elevated Training Solutions has certainly had its challenges. A pivotal moment that illustrates my resilience occurred during the pandemic when I lost my job. This unexpected turn of events was both daunting and motivating, as it forced me to fully commit to my business. With my livelihood at stake, I had no choice but to invest all my efforts into making ETS a success.
Despite the initial skepticism and the uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, my dedication and adaptability enabled ETS to thrive. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and innovation, reinforcing my commitment to providing quality education and support to our students and their families.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One particular challenge I faced was adapting to the seasonal nature of the education business. Early on, I realized that there were periods of high demand and times when interest waned. This variability posed a significant challenge in maintaining consistent engagement and revenue.
To address this challenge, I strategically focused on developing courses and programs that offered year-round value to parents and students. By diversifying our offerings beyond traditional tutoring sessions, we were able to provide continuous educational support and enrichment opportunities throughout the year.
This proactive approach not only stabilized our business during quieter periods but also enhanced our overall service offerings and expanded our reach to a broader audience. It enabled us to build long-term relationships with families and establish ETS as a reliable educational partner.
Adapting to the seasonal nature of the education sector required flexibility and foresight, but it ultimately strengthened our ability to meet the evolving needs of students and families effectively.
