Chatejah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.

As a young Black entrepreneur, I made the bold decision to establish a film studio at the age of 23. The journey commenced when I successfully produced my first series at the age of 21. Fueled by my passion for creating television shows, I took a leap of faith and ventured into the world of entrepreneurship by opening a film studio. My path to the film industry has been unconventional, characterized by the decision to establish a studio at such a young age.

Hello, I’m Chatejah George, a 26-year-old studio owner of C&C Movie Film Studios, featuring a 20,000 sqft soundstage. I am also a writer and producer. C&C Movie Film Studios proudly stands as the first black-owned and woman-owned studio globally. Within our expansive space, we offer over 10 standing sets, including a hospital, jail, restaurant, classroom, church, and more. We offer production services, prop rentals and studio space.

One of my directed and written series has garnered over 7 million views and is currently streaming on Tubi. Additionally, I’ve recently released a movie, called “Goodnight” written and directed by me, available for rent on my website at the affordable price of $1.99. Goodnight, the movie, is about a teenager, driven to the edge, executes a plan for revenge that lays bare the grim realities of his tormentors.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Two books that have greatly influenced my journey are “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale and “I Can Do It: How to Use Affirmations to Change Your Life” by Louise Hay. Reading has provided me with valuable knowledge and understanding. When feeling stuck in your career or uncertain about the next steps, taking a moment to sit still and appreciate what you already have is crucial.

I believe in involving God and incorporating prayer into everything I do. God serves as the key to finding answers in every aspect of life.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Establishing a brand or business on social media requires unwavering consistency. Mastering the art of consistent content posting involves learning to generate ideas and strategies. This may include studying popular trends, sharing valuable knowledge, or leveraging your unique skills and talents. Consistency in both content creation and strategy implementation is key to building a strong and successful presence on social media. Sometimes doubt and overthinking holds us back from getting to the next level.
