Alright, Chasity thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
My second or third customer I had, when I first opened my business was evicted from their home due to financial struggles and was jumping from hotel to hotel with their dog. After a certain point it was becoming harder to find affordable hotels to accommodate them with their dog. They went to google and found my business STEPPETS from there and contacted me. They communicated their situation and I really empathized with them and was able to work up a payment plan with them for their pup to stay in my care for two weeks. A little over a week had gone by and their family members opened up their home to them and was able to give them a room and was happy to have them bring their dog along. Long story short they have been my customer for over a year now and have referred quite a few people over to my business.

Hello, I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, it has always been a passion of mine to care for animals. Growing up I knew one day I was going to be involved in something that revolved around caring for animals I just didn’t exactly know in what way I’d go.. I wanted to be a vet as a kid but like every other kid I changed my mind every so often on careers. I’ve always had dogs in my life since I was a kid and I finally got my own dog just over a year ago and I wanted so badly for him to have a playmate and jokingly talked about throwing him play dates every week so he can burn out his energy and won’t be so bored but not too long after that which was a few months ago my best friend and I was talking about businesses and how it’d be cool for me to open a business with animals since I’m so passionate about them and an hour later she helped me to start up the business website & social media page for dog boarding and dog daycare and it’s been amazing & up and running ever since. I own a dog boarding/daycare business. I offer affordable services and take the time to nurture my clients’ pets and provide attention to one or two pets at a time per stay compared to other businesses that don’t have the time to do that especially when it comes to the animals and their sleep schedule. I treat their dogs as if their my own pet hence the business name and I allow the dogs to feel as if they’re at their own home when they are staying at my home with me and my dogs. Im most proud of the fact that my clients trust me enough to watch their pets when they are away. I want readers to know that my service offers expectational customer service and satisfaction. When your dog leaves my home they will remember me and want to come back time and time again.
I am most proud of the constant support I have had around me in regards to my business and the ongoing appreciation from my customers for my services offered in my community..
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes, my side hustle turned into my full-time business. How I got started was a smooth transition. At first I was a little hesitant, but I thought and prayed about it and not too long after coming to the conclusion that I wanted to begin operating my business full-time, I resigned from my full-time customer service job, working 9 to 5 and haven’t went back since. Initially, it didn’t start off as I thought it would with my business booming and such, but more so it was a slow sail then after a few months it kicked off and I had customers booking me almost every other day for my services. Some of the key milestones for being able to celebrate some of the dogs, birthdays with them in my care and for my costumers reaching a year of using my services.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What I know for a fact, helped me build my reputation within my market is my exceptional customer service with my customers, my ability to be flexible and to negotiate payment plans with customers that are in need of it. As well as offering pickup and drop-off services and continually updating customers through social media of discounts and openings.
