We recently connected with Charvin Clark and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Charvin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Yes, I’ve been able to support myself by earning a full-living. It was a risky journey to take at the time. I was working as a maintenance man for about 10 years. Everyday I went to work unhappy because I felt like I was missing out on my passion. Every year I felt like my passion was slipping away from me. Finally one day I just up and quit my job. I decided to become an influencer and show my talent to world via skits. I was not easy at first because the paychecks were not consistent. But through determination I was able to succeed. Knowing what I know now, I would’ve took that leap of faith a long time ago. Follow your dreams.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an actor and comedian from Fayette, Mississippi. I’ve been acting for quite a while now. My passion started at a very young age, I knew what I wanted to be. Currently, I’m a social media influencer. This is a perfect platform for me to showcase my acting abilities without the need for auditions. I’m my own boss. But don’t get me wrong, it’s surely a struggle sometimes doing everything by yourself. What set me apart from others is my ability to play multiple characters at one. My range is unhinged and should be recognized lol. I’m most proud of the fact that I can make nothing into something. Basically, I built my own lane that can not be duplicated. I want people to know that I’m an underrated actor who is waiting for his big opportunity. Until then, I will continue to provide excellent content.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I get to make people happy. I get to alter people imagination. My biggest reward is being able to be free to live out my passion.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, I want to be recognized as a great actor. That’s how much confidence I have in myself and my brand.
