Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charlotte Rigaud. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Charlotte, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The story of my mission goes hand in hand with how my business even got started. I remember launching my business at the beginning of 2021 with only one client. Later on I was offered what I thought was my “dream job” but then after a few months, I noticed that my dream job was actually to be free from a 9-5 and not working for someone else’s dream but to be able to live my own and use the talents that God has blessed me with to help other local businesses and entrepreneurs. The story behind launching my business is a testimony to those out there on how they should NEVER ever give up on their dream of owning their own business and trusting God to do the impossible because I just had to make the possible happen.
My mission statement is:
Providing exceptional social media services and strategies that will allow businesses to forge a relationship and a strong bond with their audience through engaging and captivating content.
How do I achieve this? Forming a one-on-one relationship with my client and making sure I understand their mission & vision, and their business goals so that I am able to align them with their social media goals.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I went from working in customer service for about 8 years to learning about how to become a social media manager from You Tube and serial entrepreneurs that were already experts in the industry in less than 6 months. After being laid off from my job due to covid I knew I wanted to pivot my career and give social media a try. Having a background & education in Marketing I knew that was something I wanted to pursue and I was glad that time during covid, gave me the opportunity to do it. To learn, fail, keep learning, fail again and now I’m in business, managing the social media platforms of local businesses and entrepreneurs (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok & LinkedIn). When I mean managing their social media platforms that includes: Creating the captions, graphics, content, SM strategy and creating Ads!
I am beyond grateful for the businesses that took a chance on me, and on what I had to deliver creatively. I had the chance to intern with two amazing people that allowed me to use their accounts for my portfolio and it has only grown ever sense. I have been blessed with the opportunity that my clients trust my judgment and creativity process that they rarely micromanage what I am posting, they have shared how easy I have been able to understand their brand and messaging, that I was able to confidently pick it up and just ran with it. I believe that has been one of the proudest moments looking back and being able to not be all talk but actually SEE their accounts growing and reaching new audiences.
I want my potential clients to know that they can trust me to fully understand their brand, that once they have started working with me they no longer have to stress about posting on social media and learning the latest hacks because that’s what I am there for. And how my brand is helping local businesses & entrepreneurs focus on selling their business and trust that their social media pages are im good hands. I also would like to add, it did not start this way but since being saved everything I do has been to glorify God and He is a big part of my business and why I am where I am because of Him, and because of Him I am able to work with the gifts he has given me to help others, which is why my business content on my business pages is also focused around that.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals! I love referrals, that’s how I have been able to get my clients and it is such a great way to form a relationship because your potential client is getting it straight from the client that is already receiving my service, which they are happy with!
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
It was so easy to start this business off! And I was so grateful to find the top experts to share on how to get it started, and their tips were spot on!
One of the many pleasures of working from home and starting an online business is that you do not really need much to start off and also not that much to keep the operation running. As I explained when I got started it took me only a few months or less to dive into YouTube videos, the right webinars & free courses to start my career as a freelancer, which was all free. And to fully lunch it took less than $900! When you combine all the initial expenses, websites, business cards & software.
I know some people would prefer to spend that money on things or traveling but I knew there were a lot of sacrifices I needed to make to start my business! And I do not regret taking them and making the necessary adjustments to my monthly budget to achieve that. But most off all I thank God for providing the right opportunities, people and income to make this dream happen!
