We were lucky to catch up with Charlie Hulse recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Charlie, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
At Sentience Entertainment, our foremost mission is to elevate consciousness. And ask that the deepest parts of us lead a search for more in life. That can also be recognized as the collision of risk and curiosity – what I would identify as the skills that allow me to succeed in the ways that I do today. Producing is like a marathon, and this marathon all began when I would spend my free time testing cameras and editing club penguin screen recordings. Curiosity allured me to get familiar with software that would be vital in excelling in the industry. Risk is what made my next step, such as interning at various agencies and companies and applying my studies in screenwriting and producing. Few of us probably network as much as we should, whether that be because of responsibilities, distractions, or out of the fear of being judged. But networking has made my risks calculated and helps to build the elevated community that Sentience Entertainment wants to build.

Charlie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I signed with a management company at a very young age, working as a child background actor for many Nickelodeon sets. Seeing the creation of art inspired me to become a Development Intern with Round Group Entertainment when I came of age, and that catapulted into more production assistant and coordinator roles. And so that is what’s really cool, seeing opportunities snowball into more opportunities to create art. Or even working with creatives to help with their merch, IP registration, and more that is impactful for creatives. Now, I am proud to say that I am a Co-Executive Producer with Sentience Entertainment and have led series like “The Single(s)” from concept to pilot, and from pilot to two independent episodes in our ledger.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
When we create art, we unlock something that was previously hidden in our potential. It’s powerful, because that can inspire someone else to actualize their vision. Or integrate what they take away into their character. And that’s what Sentience Entertainment is about; forming a community on a quest for purpose and identity to elevate consciousness. And that all starts with uplifting consumers through storytelling. Check us out at @sentience_ent on Instagram.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
What is revealing itself to be the most rewarding about being a creative and artist is the healthy relationships you form with others, and also yourself. Only as a team were we at Sentience Entertainment able to successfully exhibit two episodes of our dramedy, “The Single(s)”, but also enter other series like “Catacombs of Horror” into development.
