Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charlie Huff. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Charlie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents always supported me and encouraged me to follow my dreams. I locked into the idea of pursuing a career as a storyteller at a young age, and they never tried to talk me out of it or cast doubt on my capabilities. Their love and encouragement means a lot to me.
Charlie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’d say I’m just a guy who really loves stories. My whole life I’ve been captivated and inspired by all types of stories, whether it be books or movies or plays. Stories have played a huge role in peoples’ lives throughout all of human history and they’re something that universally unites us. For whatever reason narrative storytelling has always come naturally and been therapeutic for me. My goal is to primarily focus on writing screenplays and novels, and seizing new opportunities as they come. I think what sets me apart from other writers (and I think this sets all writers apart from each other in general) is that I have my own lived experience that is only personal to me. I think what I’d like people to know about me is that my work always comes from an honest and vulnerable part of myself. When I try to write something that isn’t, it never comes out well. And while there are many different messages and goals a writer may set out to express with a story, I think the ultimate objective is just to entertain.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think creatives all feel a sort of calling that nudges them toward a certain craft or form of expression that is difficult to explain. And they seem to have a need to fulfill their creativity or else they feel unsatisfied in their daily lives.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
There’s definitely a lot of money to be made with them and I think they’re an awesome way for artists to put their work out there. Crypto is still just getting started, and the opportunities are endless.
